Ben: I didn't ask for any of this. I just want to be normal. Gronx: I wanted to be an underwear model. We play the hand we're dealt.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Random. IO9 did a piece on Santa Sangre, one of my pet university traumas, and it made me google the guy I saw it with, and apparently he was a producer of the Scott Pilgrim comics. Which makes three guys I know from university who went into comics, four if you count Colin's dabbling.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

::Note to Self: Don't take ita to the elephant funeral::

Not if you want to make out with me afterwards.

Which I hope you don't.

Who wants to make out after an elephant funeral?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Thanks to Buffistas genius hivemind, taking his health insurance premiums off of the DH's freelance business resulted in us owing NO tax. Yahoo!

Yay! I'm glad my panicky error correction was helpful to someone! It was a lot of money in our case!

I guess I have become my mother.

Heh, Allyson. I'm more like my mother than I would like to admit, too.

So! I just got back from my friend's baby shower. It was actually after the baby was born; she was the one who had a miscarriage and a stillbirth previously, so we weren't hedging any bets this time. But it was so wonderful to be able to celebrate with her.

Anyway, I went for a long drive afterwards. Celebrating new life was a good antidote for disaster-induced depression. It's a beautiful day today, and I live in a really gorgeous place. I'm glad to be able to appreciate that.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Or do I have to (sigh) CALL SOMEONE!

You have to call or write them a paper-type letter. The process is not designed to make it easy and convenient to quit!

The TV show with the strongest online fandom is no real surprise. Although I have to say I had a twinge of "Buffy would have kicked alla y'alls asses." Hawaii 5 O sure came out of the gate strong.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Hawaii 5 O sure came out of the gate strong.

Well, we'll stop slashing it when they stop doing that.

I can't believe I don't slash them. I think something's wrong with me.
