Dawn: I thought you were adequate. Giles: And the accolades keep pouring in. I'd best take my leave before my head swells any larger. Good night.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's like the opposite of when I was giving blood with msbelle and the phlebotomist asked me if she was always that pale....

Art Crawl!!!

I'm watching the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe - there is a filly named Testosterone in it.

Unless I misheard.

But I swear that is what I heard.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

ratings news for Friday series:

More second-week slippage in the ratings on Friday night: CBS’ A Gifted Man, CSI: NY, Blue Bloods, and Fox’s Fringe fell from their fall schedule debuts last week, while other shows held steady.

CBS won the night with freshman drama Gifted (8.1 million viewers, 1.2 adults 18-49 rating) down 14 percent. CSI: NY (10 million, 1.6) and Bloods (11.1 million, 1.8) were both down around 10 percent.

Fox had Kitchen Nightmares (4 million, 1.6) and Fringe (3.1 million, 1.2), the latter off 20 percent, while The CW’s Nikita (1.8 million, 0.6) and Supernatual (1.8 million, 0.7) remained flat.

Also airing on Friday: NBC’s Dateline (6.2 million, 1.6) and ABC’s 20/20 (4 million, 1.2).

Did a little misc cleaning and shredded or filed All The Paper. I should go drop stuff off at Goodwill next.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ooh, shredding and filing All the Paper is a good project. <flylady likes carrots>And in line with October's "deal with paper clutter" focus!</flylady>

I am disappoint. Two of my students are getting baptized today and I was supposed to drive up to see it. But it is raining like the blazes (wait, do the blazes rain? Probably not.) and so we can't go. Not only are our dirt roads already holding water, but the one path to the church has a deep wash that was flooding last week, with much less rain than this. So. We're sending a note, and we'll bring them gifts when we see them at school (hopefully tomorrow, although rain is predicted all this week).

However, that does mean I have the day to do stuff! And the house is mostly clean from Friday's guests since we were both out of the house the entire day yesterday. Although I have failed pizza detritus that I couldn't deal with yesterday. But a rainy Sunday is a perfect puttering around the house day! Kettle's on already! And the birds are fed and the rain barrels dealt with, so there shouldn't need to be any more flapping around in the cold rain today.

Woo hoo!

Oh, that's too bad about the rain, Liese.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Sunday is my one day a week where I get to sleep until I wake up. I slepy till 8:45. Heaven.

Now I am fully fed and sunblocked and am off to do battle with the front yard, which has been invaded by lutherans weeds galore.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

We were talking about well dressed Goths, so of course you came up.

Awww!

This vacation with Drew and Kristin has been EXACTLY what I needed. Going home is going to be weird.

Punishingly Intricate

We cleaned the house yesterday because we had friends over for dinner and now I'm enjoying hanging out in my clean house! I love that. We seriously need to have people over more often.

We slept super late and went for a short bike ride. It is cold like fall out there! And grey. But it's nice cuppa tea weather. Now Bob is getting ready to leave for a week in Bloomington/Normal (and then coming back here thursday night and going back out there next Sunday through Wednesday night). Meh. I'll catch up on my stories but I'll miss him.
