You're wrong about River. River's not on the ship. They didn't want her here, but she couldn't make herself leave. So she melted... Melted away. They didn't know she could do that, but she did.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I just cleared my entire inbox. Which has been uncleared for, like, years. I would like someone to pat me on the back now. I mean, I didn't do all the work, I just separated it out into what actually needs done and what had gotten thrown in there because it was sitting on my desk, and what actually should have been in the file basket.

And it turns out there were only actually five projects in it. I swear it looked like a googol. And a few of them just need something looked into, so it's possible that the project will only take a few minutes. It's also possible that they will spiral into the bureaucratic death project from hell. But at least now I have a grasp on what I'm dealing with.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

::pats Liese on the back::

I fully patted myself on the back in a meeting yesterday.

That is impressive, Liese. Truly.

I am inordinately pleased with myself, I tell you what. In fact, I am going call it a day and go take a bath. I have a social obligation this evening and I really had myself talked out of going, but I totally should go. I will have fun if I get there, I just get all anxietied up beforehand. So. Bath. Out of the house.

I have guests coming over for dinner tomorrow, but honestly, with flylady, the house is not in that bad shape. I would be doing entry/dining/front porch this weekend anyway, and that's pretty much all that needs doing. So yeah. I should go. I'm going.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

That's awesome, Liese!!

BTW, I have two Rubba Scrubbas and like them, and I have the mop (with red dust mop head and microfiber for mopping) and I love love love it. I hate vacuums, and the red dust mop gets up so much more than just a broom and it's silent and very fast. I will probably buy the Rubba Sweepa at some point.

I always wanted a female band to cover Jessie's Girl. Give it a whole new spin.

My favorite queer pop punk band, The Butchies, used to end most shows with The Outfield's "Your Love." Their last cd before breaking up, they included it but unfortunately did a downtempo version. Drives me nuts every time I listen to the cd, because I want to hear the uptempo version.

Jesse, maybe it is just an offer to go to a lease or a change in rent?

Back from my neighbor treating me to dinner after picking him up. Good conversation/ventfest. He kept feeding me his sweet potato fries. They were really good.I'm a little bit full. He had enough beer to be able to talk about his house woes (he's hit a trifecta of $$$ urgent fixes and his car is in the shop for major repairs) and get totally distracted midsentence by the really really beautiful bartender dude who was working the station in front of us.

Mmm, neighborhood.

I just signed up to do a COP patrol in November.

Yeah, if they are increasing my rent, I'll have to move, too. The last time I signed a lease, we just did it via email. Oy.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ooh, enabling! I like it.

There was another thing I was going to respond to, but I just got back from dinner with our neighbors who make really kickass cocktails, so I can't remember what it was now.

My dryer is on the fritz and the repair guys can't come for another week. This is officially No Good. (I'm pretty sure it needs the drain pump replaced, so we can sort of keep running it on life support if I'm willing to take apart the lint filter and use a washcloth to sop out the water every time. Stupid condensing dryer.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So my quest for methadone was flouted, big time. Apparently it's a big deal drug, eh? And that means that if I'm prescribed 15mg, I can't be given 10mg + 5mg to add up to fifteen unless the doctor specifies those size pills in combination.

I have no idea when I'm going to be able to get that fixed.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Wonder what you can get from a methadone clinic.

ETA: simple googling indicates that it's not that easy to get a schedule II drug from a methadone clinic. Who knew!
