Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

IO good N, my niece just found out she got into George Washington University today, which was one of her top three choices! This is even better if you know that this week is the anniversary of when her sister died two years ago and the whole family is thrilled to have something to celebrate. Her top two choices are University of Chicago and Princeton, so those are harder nuts to crack, even though she does have fab grades. etc.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Yay Scrappy's niece!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

YAY good news!!!

After having hung out with Angela Bassett a wee bit when she was at the Guthrie, I... don't know that I could F, C, OR M her. She's just so... Well, let's put it this way. I get shy around people whose work I really like, but then I get over it (hello, eye-flirting with Corb Lund the second time I saw him). But Bassett is so very beautiful and so very self-possessed and so very charismatic in this amazingly quiet yet powerful way that I could never get over that shyness.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

YAY good news, indeed! I always like a Good News Friday.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

My iris and dogwood are in bloom, but, well, Georgia.

Dogwood!

So is Brian Cox basically the only real human who fits the TV Show Genius Template?

Yes. And I adore him. He's not why I love physics, but he's got the best soundbite ever for he does and why everyone should. Not that I've shown it to people or anything... Um.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We're going to a bar mitzvah tomorrow.(My second cousin) Whee.

I dated a guy who spoke 8 languages, was a master at Aikido, a star at art school, a computer whiz and was 24. He was from Belgium and lived all over the world as a kid, which helped with the many languages.

I am kind of dopey. I had a coupon for a free Redbox rental. Which, as you may know, is actually only saving a dollar, so not that exciting. So I went to get one, but didn't put in the code. So I got a movie for a dollar. So then I decided I should get the free one anyway. So now I have two movies, and no DVD player, just on the laptop, so watching them won't even be that awesome. Which is why I never rent movies!

I swear.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

God, Jesse, I can't believe they even let you out of the house.

My burgundy leather coat is officially too too for casual Friday. But it makes me feel better. It doesn't have a slash in the back, so it tends to flare out at the slightest provocation. Which makes me feel even better. And makes people stare. Ah, well.

I have never dated a genius. Ah, well.

I'm just saying. At least I have a bottle of wine.
