Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I love this painting: [link]

Oh Steph, I just this minute plunked down the cash to get it from Amazon.uk. I cannot WAIT!

ETA: tommy, the people across the street from my mom just got their Sphynx kitten. He's about 12 weeks old and adorable! I want to steal him, but that would be mean. The upside is I get to visit him (and his brother, who is an English Springer Spaniel)

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Prepare for your mind to be blown. By the thing. And the other thing. BLOWN.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

What a night for baseball. Two wild cards up for dibs. Only one of the four games is complete. Yankees/Rays are tied in the 10th. Phillies/Braves are tied in the 12th. Red Sox/Orioles are 3-2 in a 7th inning rain delay. Yowza.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Too lazy to look in literary: Has anyone here read The Forest of Hands and Teeth? I wanna know the skinny on it.

This week has been particularly grim. I fell asleep crying last night and woke the same way this morning.

What made me smile, though, was a wonderful generous box from Perkins. She rocks!

Because books.

Baseball makes me cry. Stupid Mets.

Oh, Kat, I'm sorry. But in answer to your question, I haven't read it, but I've heard great things about it, and the sequel.

Also, Perkins rocks. It's a whole thing.

Oh, Perkins DOES so rock. She's amazing.

One of the AP teachers on my listserv rec'd it and the local indie ordered it for me. I should be getting it on Friday. I'll let you know what I think. I also have your book on order, Amy.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The Braves are trying to kill me.

Ha! I came over specifically to ask if the Braves were trying to make you cry.
