I'm supposed to deliver you to the Master now. There's this whole deal where I get to be immortal. Are you cool with that?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Very cool first date, tommyrot! Hope y'all have fun.

Because books.

Wow, a little sunshine makes a huge difference in my mood. There's been way too much gray and rain.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

On Saturday we're driving to Mobile to tour the battleship USS Alabama.

Ooh, I love this as a first date!

I suck at positive reinforcement. It works really well but requires so much planning or else it just turns into shameless bribery.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's the sort of date Geek 2 Geek is made for, and that completely evades me.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Woot, tommyrot! Hope it goes well!

The reality: a listeria outbreak that has killed 13 people so far.

Yes, and then I got to spend the morning freaking out about the fact that I've eaten quite a lot of cantaloupe since becoming pregnant, and of course Listeria is linked to miscarriages and stillbirths. Fortunately, the grocery store near work, the only place I've bought cantaloupe in the last few months, put out a press release saying that they don't get their cantaloupes from the farm that's the source of the outbreak. But I'm still reluctant to eat the cantaloupe in my fridge now. (Also, they didn't have deviled eggs at the supermarket this morning, so I bought egg salad instead, and it's kinda gross. I think they put sugar in it. Why would you do that to egg salad?? I really need to remember to boil some more eggs when I get home tonight.)

edit: sorry for all the egg talk, ita !

Because books.

Sugar in egg salad? That's really wrong.

Kate P., check in Literary! I left a message for you.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I love eggs, but I am dry heaving at the idea of sugar in egg salad.

Kate, do you think perhaps instead of sugar, they used Miracle Whip (and not mayo). I have a strong aversion to MW and I think it taints the taste of anything used with it.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Have fun, tommy!
