Cash, interesting. I could see that if the prof was already a creepy guy, the first poster might creep me even more and dissuade ne from attending office hours. I can think of a few professors I know that would apply to. I can think of more who the poster would make me go "awesome, he's a firefly fan!". But the second one seems a rational response...

(note--my major was chem, so I had a lot of creepy poorly socialized professors)
