Oh, that's hard, Stephanie. I'm sure Joe is hurting at the end of the marriage, and saying what he feels he needs to. But you are a lovely person and we like you no matter what!
Because I am looking forward to all their Christmas candy, but require a trip to Albuquerque to do so.
Also, ha, this is the closest TJ's to me too, probably! We should make a joint TJ's pilgrimage!
I'm having a good vacation after a rough start. On our way we stopped to watch some people flying (huge) radio-controlled airplanes, and noticed we were low on coolant. Then we blew out a tire on the highway, but the SO changed it (using a coconut husk to dig out the sand around it!) and our spare is a full size, so we were back on our way. Yesterday we went to Bearizona and an arctic wolf licked our car door handle. Then we were tired so we ordered in and chilled at the hotel. Today we went to the Museum of Northern Arizona and saw an amazing exhibit of Zuni map art. We had our big anniversary dinner for lunch instead so it would be cheaper and also so we wouldn't have to mess with it around concert time. SO had blackened mahi mahi and I had Alaskan halibut with beurre blanc, and it all tasted great but we felt sick afterwards. So I dunno if it was bad (yes, I know, fish in the middle of Arizona) or if we're just not used to the richness of restaurant food, but blah. Anyway, then we went running around town and hit the local outfitters (nice stuff but too expensive, even in their big offseason sale) and the Barnes & Noble, where I had a salted caramel mocha. Now more chill time before this evening's show.
Liese, I love your attitude and perspective on just about everything.
Stephanie, you're one of my favorite peeps and I'd be happy to send TJs stuff, too.
Timelies all!
This morning, as we were riding the elevator to check out of our hotel, the woman standing next to me says "I think I went to high school with you.". She then adds, "You're Sheryl, right?", which I answered with yes. I didn't recognize her name when she told it to me, but still, that kinda blew my mind. Especially since I haven't seen anyone from my high school since the 10 year reunion, which was a while ago. Small world, I guess.
Sounds lovely, Liese... not the feeling sick part, obviously. Happy anniversary!
Wish I had a TJs to send you treats, Stephanie. (I do have a local confectionary where I bet I can come up with a nice box of soul soothing chocs - if you let me know what your favorites are.)
Liese - sounds like quite a weekend. Also: a salted caramel moch sounds the nommiest.
I have a lazy Sunday following a lazy Saturday. I have spent most of the day in bed, listening to music, readin
Cold Fire
and grooming my cat. She has the most obnoxious mats in her coat and I've been gradually dematting her.
Glad you're making the most out of your vacation after a rough start, Liese. Also, happy anniversary!
Happy Anniversary, Liese! No-sick-getting, though.
Stephanie, the buffistas have your back.
Stephanie, the buffistas have your back.
Oh, most definitely, Stephanie. I should have posted that, too. I was thinking it!
Thanks! It's the SO's attitudes, really. He looks at the world like it's this amazing place and at everything in it like it's this wild adventure, and well, it kinda rubs off. So you get the adrenalin rush from not rolling the wagon at 75 miles an hour on the highway, but then you get the hilarity at using half a coconut husk to dig with. (Cue African swallows joke.) He's pretty awesome.
