"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Thanks for the commiseration, but I'll be okay. Better than being broken down in Bakersfield. Better than a lot of problems. At the very least Emmett is now old enough to BART to school when he has to.

There's a soccer game going on across the street at Kezar Stadium. There's Golden Ticket parking spaces behind the stadium where I can leave the car without it getting towed while we figure out what to do with it.

So when the game ends in the next 45 minutes, wish me some luck as I try to push the car into a safe zone.

I just need a bit of parking-ma and I can collapse.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Maria, I'm sorry about the airshow and I do hope you'll find another way to relax and blow off some steam.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Aw, Maria, I'm so sorry. Bad traffic is bad, bad traffic that makes you miss a break you truly need is the utter shits. I hope you get another chance at a vacation from the land of coping this weekend, even a brief one.

Hec is out attempting to move the car now. I can't even let myself think about what to do next about the car. It's a gift of the Buffistas' love; I want it to last forever and it's all kinds of stressful and guilt-inducing that I can't see how to make that happen.

In considerably better news, however, this evening Emmett got an excellent vintage fez and a swanky robe and a sapphire ring, all of which filled him with glee, although not as much as just hugging his sister.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I got the golden ticket parking spot through guile, strategy, intelligence gathering, patience and muscle.

Now the car will not be towed nor ticketed while we figure out what to do with it.

And I can collapse for a bit.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So I bought the primer instead of the chafing gel. But not the luminising one, because that has colour in it, and it was too complicated.

Loving the Black Honey lip gloss.

ita !, while zuisa and I were in Sephora, I saw the black honey lipgloss and was like "hey, it's what ita ! is looking for!" (That is a dangerous dangerous store, y'all). Also, they were selling delicious ginger lipgloss (clear, flavored/scented). Loving it, wearing it all the time now.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Mmmm, Sephorage.

eating tacos or sushi or both in Hawaii

Fish tacos. Solves the dilemma nicely. With cabbage even.

I am sorry today has been stressful for people.

ooh! Was it Sephora brand?

ooh! Was it Sephora brand?

No, it's by a brand (new I think) called "BITE". They had a bunch of other flavors too, and some nice looking lipsticks, but I'd already overspent the gift certificate I was there for (got a new Urban Decay 24/7 lip color and liquid liner)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Glad you got some breathing room, Hec.

Ooh, I should see if there will be a Sephora in Sedona or Flagstaff while we're there for our anniversary mini-vacation.
