They aren't kidding it is shocking for this neighborhood. Now, a few blocks west or south, less unexpected. But here? Glad I was running late, as most days find me right at that corner at 4:30. And it is RIGHT next to the playground and school.
Guess that'll be the hot angry topic for the cop liasons at the neighborhood meeting next week.

The cops had to yell at me that the sidewalk was closed because they hadn't gotten the crime scene tape up. So I just cut through the field. At first thought car accident, but only the one car and all the helicopters...but I still didn't know until I got back home. It was business as usual at the Y.
To be clear, I'm dismayed, but don't feel threatened or anything. Just...surreal.
And I'd just finished talking up our hood to some prospective buyers. Hope they left a different way!
