BUT I do have a question... how do I work with figs? Do they need to be peeled? They were in my CSA box and I'd like to use them to make filling for Fig Newtons.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

People. Fire bad, tree pretty.

I've given most of my mission patches to my eldest nephew, but the hubble mission tiepins and pins? Yeah, I hang on to them. I like tacking my wee silver Hubble to the lapel of my "official" black dress for somber occasions.

And my squishy hubbles, and my massive SM4 poster thing. They dug up mission patch stickers to match what each of the servicing mission partners who worked the latest mission been a part of. Since I joined in 97, I think I have all but the first. And a piece of WFPC2.

I sometimes forget how awesome what I work on is.

My cousin fed me a fresh fig off her tree once. I never knew what they tasted like fresh. They were awesome.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Jessica, remember PASS! Pull the pin, Aim at the base of the fire, Squeeze the trigger, and Sweep back and forth.

We did this! Except for the sweeping part because it really was a very, very small fire. And by "we" I mean DH who got to do the manly fire-putting-out bit while I stood on the landing with the kids just in case.

Allyson, that's so cool. I wish I'd gone in a sciencey direction in college instead of film sometimes.

I don't think you need to peel figs.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

I just eat figs straight off the tree, no peeling. But if you're going to make filling...well, I don't know. Possibly.

Because books.

I don't think I even know what a fresh fig looks like.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have a mild fruit fly issue, but even worse, something is infested with moths. I may just throw out on all my grains without looking.

even around my eyes to good success

Was there supposed to be a "not around the eyes"? I'm assuming the monistat is like the default primer, right? Not the evening or luminising one? I'm trying to make up my makeup shopping list for the weekend. I suspect I'll go one more iteration with Smashbox, and I need to find a really soft black eyeliner pencil. And maybe Black Honey lip gloss. But the reviews on the dual product complain a lot about the cap coming off.

What kind of mascara are people using? My daily stuff is the Blinc mascara, because I like the tubing, and the way it comes off easy with soap and water, but is waterproof. Sephora said that was the only tubing mascara they had. Did it not take off?
