Oh, Cash, that's horrible. I really hope that he does get the help he needs.
Perkins--woot!!!
In completely other news, I bit the bullet on deciding on a car last night. I'll be getting the Mazda3, gunmetal blue (light blue mixed with light grey), i Touring model. Problem is that even though the salesman told me last night I'd get the 0% financing, he called me back this morning to tell me that the finance manager looked at my numbers and my credit score is ten points below the cutoff for that financing, damnit! He just called back, and it looks like they can get me 3.5-3.9% instead, which is okay but means my monthly payments are going to be $30-40 more than I originally intended. Blargh. And, it won't be available until Monday. I asked if he could give me a loaner since my insurance is only covering my rental car through Saturday, and he's going to call me back with that info.
Even after I put my big downpayment down, pay off my credit card, school tuition for this fall, and get new glasses next month, I should stil have some money left over for my savings account. Add to that money I'm hoping to save up from my paycheck and some family money I'll be getting in December, I'm thinking that maybe I can finally swing my first trip abroad next summer!!
I was just talking to my mom and suggested that maybe she could accompany me to England and Scotland next August. I'd like to do 4-5 days in London, 1 day in Bath, take the train up to York and do that town, Edinburgh, and Hadrian's Wall for 3-4 days, and then rent a car and drive through the Highlands to Aberdeen and take a ferry up to the Orkney Islands for a few days before taking the train back to London to fly home.
Oh Cash, I'm so sorry. I hope you get the phone call you want, soon.
Yay Perkins!
I was unnaturally nervous when I got to the Sorting Ceremony on Pottermore. I'd taken online sorting quizzes before, but I was like.. JK Rowling is involved. This is OFFICIAL.
Hee! (And I'm not gonna lie; I would flip out if I didn't get sorted into Ravenclaw. I guess Slytherin would be okay.) The idea of Pottermore fascinates me - backstory! Hogwarts! - but I SO do not have time for it.
Yay, Perkins!!!!
Man, Cashmere. I hope for the best possible outcome for this situation.
You basically could have knocked me over with a feather when I was sorted into Gryffindor. I was sure it'd be Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff.
Pottermore is a lot of fun! A lot of the newer material and backstories are incredibly interesting, and the flash animation is stunning. There isn't a whole lot to /do/, really, but I think it'll only improve.
Cash, I am so sorry. The absolute lack of any kind of mental health care system in this country infuriates me.
Yay, Perkins!
Echoing everyone, I'm so sorry Cash, and I hope you hear soon, and he gets back on the meds he needs.
Perkins -- yay!!
I'm sorry, Cash. I hope your brother goes to the shelter as soon as possible and that you can get that confirmed rather than having to wonder.
God, Cashmere, words fail. That is utterly infuriating and terrifying. I hope that your brother gets the meds he needs soon.
Yay, Perkins!
I need a fucking transporter to get to Indiana. I just talked to my mom. My brother showed up at the pub where my dad was having lunch. They're still down there. Mom told me she wants to call the hospital and talk to the social worker there.
I had to explain to her that they cannot help him or work with him unless he's committed. Then Mom said they have to let Joe stay with them because he pays them rent.
The faster he is out of there and in the presence of professionals, the sooner he will get medicated. I told her they need to take him to the shelter tonight if he refuses meds.
If they stop trying to do this on their own, the slow-moving system will start working on a place for him to stay and getting him on meds. The more my parents try to deal with this on their own, the less help they are giving to Joe.
God, I'm so fucking frustrated. I want to go cock-punch that psychiatrist for unloading this shit on my 70 year old parents.
