I had no idea of the Deaf President Now protest. It didn't register for me at the time, as I was pretty wrapped up in Canadian politics and ignoring US stuff.
It doesn't register for me at all either. Then again, I was studying abroad until September of that year and all I knew is that I didn't want the former head of the CIA to be president. Of course, when the Senior Class Committee was discussing inviting someone to speak at our unified graduation that following spring, I had no idea who Clinton was either, even remarking after his eventual (amazing) speech that I hoped one day he would become well known enough to run for President. Good times.
Hil-- "Deaf President Now" was about the board picking a hearing person for president of Gallaudet, yes? I recall hearing a story about it on NPR. Was it really in 1988? Jeez, I am OLD. Or was that a different thing?
I have had meetings this morning. I am marginally hopeful about my new boss (he's kind of wacky and non-traditional, which is unusual in this workplace), and he wants to develop file management protocols (because we have none) and work flow tracking (because we have none of those either). I could use either of those as weapons in my long-running guerrilla war against My Nemesis.

OK- I have heard of this, but not at the time. I watched a special on Galludet on PBS.

Yeah, that was it. The students protested and basically shut down the university for a week.
If you're working from home, isn't it more like take your work to your cat day?
It's more like "Keep cats from sitting on your paper/technology day" every day.
ita !, the green usually tones down redness: I don't know what you want, but they have an array now: a luminizing, a skin tone evenness, and a color correcting.
I'd go to a Smashbox counter and play with the formulations, ask for samples, and then decide which one works best.
I just can't believe it was 1988! Seriously? 23 years ago?!!!
As I read through the thread I gradually remembered it, but it took some thinking.
and was appointed to the School of English in 2006, “after sucessfully decapitating his predecessor during a bloody battle which will long be remembered in legend and song”.
Hell, I'm still boggled I don't remember this. Seems like it woulda made the papers.

Okay, nobody asked you to do the math on that.

Happy last infusion day, Perkins!
And if anyone is considering ProActiv, I just started using it today, so if you want to hear my thoughts as I keep using it, let me know. I'll put stuff in LJ. Although it would be of most interest if you're over 40 and perimenopause is fucking with your skin, I guess.
