Oh, Sox. I'm sorry.
It's mostly ok. She had dinner with us last night, slept over, and is hanging with HKF for the day (they've already not left the house or been able to get to anything that lets me off the hook from answering questions like "how do you make sushi? Can you tell us RIGHT NOW?"). But this makes her happy, and once they do get out of the house, I can work, or put on music really loud.
I'm being really good, mostly. As in, I've just been going along as normal, and ignoring comments made in front of/to DH like "She just has to get all her zingers in, doesn't she?" and (after I joked I was surprised that a friend hadn't throttled her son and husband), "Why do you feel the need to use such violent language all the time. [looks at DH] It's very worrying, isn't it? I remember when you were one year old and I was in the grocery store and saw a woman say to her kid "be good or I won't love you anymore' and I just can't imagine why people speak that way to one another. Why would you do that? I'd never tell a child of mine that I didn't love them because of their actions...."
So, situation normal again. I am practicing my bene gesserit face.
Happy Anniversary, bt and Wallybee!
Oh, Sox. Vibing you buckets of Zen. Nobody should have to put up with that in their own house.
Today's Google logo is in honor of Houdini. It has a cool-ass font.
Ohhh, a thread I can catch up on. (I'll work on finishing out the other thread eventually)
So, we are home after a great trip. I woke up this morning all snotty, but at least that held off until after the trip. Sparky and family were great hosts and little Miss is adorable. Vortex and Bonnie - thank you so much for making time, it was wonderful to see your bright faces.
I have been posting pictures on FB, I may have a few I hadn't posted as they were taken, but most of the trip is chronicled there.
I'm trying to catch up on work...not fun.
Three days in a row, WTF?
I would be throwing some of them into the wood chipper by now.
please help me to be a patient, calm, kind and good daughter.
The universe needs to help your mother be a kind and good mother.
Good morning so far- came into work to find a quart of Vermont maple syrup AND a new Natter thread!
Wow. You're having a good Thursday, Nora.
It's quiet... for now. TOO quiet.
Anyway. I did something dumb. I bought a pretty black sweater at the local discount place, and when I got home I found the anti-theft device still attached. It never occurred to me to check if the cashier removed it! Now what? If I take it back to get it removed, they'll think I stole it! Damn. Anyone know how to remove these things, or what to do here?
If you have the receipt, it shouldn't be an issue...?
