Are they towards the sweeter end of the spectrum for Rieslings, or the dryer? I like Rieslings, but not the uber-sweet ones.
They had some semi-dry that were nice. I'm a sucker for the sweet so I was all over the late harvest whites with their uber-high residual sugars. I brought home a semi-sweet and a late harvest desert wine, as well as a nice, mixed blush.
I have 2 days of lunch done. maybe I can get inspired and do 1 or 2 more.
I was doubly lucky in that my college friend was also a fan of the sweet Rieslings and my twin sister is pregnant so I had a compatible wine-drinking buddy and a designated driver for the wine trail.
I need to make myself lunch for tomorrow.
Man, I remember when Grace would stubbornly refuse to walk. And now she's kicking soccer balls around.
Neighbor gave me this solid ball of catnip. Loki occasionally gets interested in it, but mostly as a ball. But here's the thing: Mister Kitty is
playing with it!
I don't think he's played in years, mostly saving his energy for getting attention.
Aaand I think it made him a little high, cause he's kinda going nuts marking my foot.
The most (accidentally) 9/11 thing I've done all day is swap my 6 used MAC products for a new tube of New York Apple lipstick.
I've been wearing it for years; it was totally coincidental, since I dug the last tiny smoodge out of my old tube of it last winter.
I also have some kinda of fun news on an article I'm querying for BUST magazine, but I can't really talk about it. I hope it pans out...I'm very SQUEEEY about it right now.
I didn't get lunches pre-made last week and ended up eating out three times. That gets a little expensive when it becomes a habit.
Yay Grace with the soccer ball kicking!
Riesling tasting sounds nice. I have a bottle open in the fridge, but it's one of the drier ones. Given that I had two glasses of red while watching
Torchwood,
I probably shouldn't pour a glass tonight, even in the name of board solidarity.
I made dinner tonight and the leftovers will be lunch tomorrow. I may make a stew tomorrow night, that should carry me a few days.
So my brother had a really good weekend with just him and the boys. Took them to Barber Motorcycle Museum and got to see a race with a spectacular non-fatal crash, spent hours on a climbing wall at a fair. But the highlight had to have been this:
"While we were waiting for the dead battery to charge on the 635 - I put the kids to use washing the other car. [ed. He has 2?3? cars. 2 died for different fixable by him reasons this weekend. Completely normal in his household!] There was a lizard that came out from under my hood - that Dominic cornered - stimulating its natural survival instinct- to jump from my roof and onto Dominic's face. I'm not sure if it was stranger that a lizard attached itself to Dominic's nose, or the fact that Dominic didn't flinch and simply stood there with a lizard on his face. Unfortunately I didn't get to my camera quickly enough- although this may have been the worlds dumbest lizard as Dominic managed to recapture it twice."
I seriously choked on my drink. Dominic has never liked critters jumping out at him, though he's less squeamish than Tyler about bugs and lizard. He likes them as long as they don't move fast. But. Lizard. Hanging off his nose.
I'm gonna have to call him Lizardface next time I talk to him.
And he sent a bunch of pictures. I miss the boys.
