Ugh. I flea-dipped the dog, and pulled about a zillion fleas off with the flea comb. He's drying now, and I will put the flea goo on him, and he's in purdah until we can get the house done.
I think we're going to have to put him and Greer in the kitchen tonight, and keep Cosmo upstairs to let the salt, borax, lavender and mint set up tonight.
I sprayed Cosmo with this natural flea repellent. It certainly smelled better than the big sray D used (on furniture, not pets) last week, but it smells like hippie death now. And She sneezed out an incredible amount of snot. DID NOT LIKE.
I'm gonna have to get out the glove for Gimlet, and maybe I'll lay a towel around her head while I spray her.
Flea killing SUCKS. But poor Arthur was just encrusted.
Erin, you'll never have to go through that again once you start using Frontline or Advantage. I have two dogs and two (part time) cats and haven't even SEEN a flea for over 10 years due to those meds. They aren't cheap but they're worth every penny.
Fleas suck. I've never had a problem with an Advantaged cat though. I've totally slacked here and - knock a lot of wood - still haven't had a problem. If I do though, immediate Advantage. Sorry you have to deal with this, Erin.
Seconding javachik on this--life is a lot easier for the pets (and me) with Frontline or Advantage.
Thanks, Jesse!
Apparently, the stress of dealing with the high-maintenance consultants for the rest of the day on her birthday, coupled with getting back to the office late and locking herself out of the building, which means she's maybe going to have to miss her soccer game tonight, made my boss forget that she told me to take the day off tomorrow. She just called me to tell me not to come into the office in the morning, but to go straight to our first consultant meeting. I said, "...Sure," because in my head, "Sure," means, "Friday," because now I have a fever.
Go ahead, guess which one.
Everything's coming up roses?
Frontline or Advantage.
Or that new pill, Comfortis? Which I always wanted to try with Lulu, but never got around to it.

Uh, yeah, don't go to work tomorrow! Yikes.
I am clearly losing it, because HGTV just made me choke up.
People need to stop talking about flea killing.
[Nathan] might enjoy hanging out in TX when this season's filming stops and being a handyman in a mid-century house.
Have you seen the interview in which he talks about his home-repair and pest-control efforts? [link]
You have protected flea status.
