If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

My workplace has a 9/11 anniversary display up. Sigh.

My workplace practially is a 9/11 anniversary display. [link]

But fortunately no sign of any specific call backs.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I am having a smoke inside the house. And I am sipping a coke. My stomach revolted and I'm in horrible pain. I'm going to walk down to enterprise and get a car and go to work and pretend everything is going to work out.

If you think of it. Drop me an e during the day and just say, "it's going to be ok."

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

flea, I love the new place! And good luck unloading the old one.

My mum works for the 9/11 memorial/museum/whatsis. Her workplace is... I assume having a more insane week than usual.

Man, Allyson. What a shitty time you're having. But it will all be okay.

Because books.

Hang in there, Allyson.

My mom asked if I wanted to go to an interfaith church service with her the night of 9/11, and I said no. I just can't. Too many memories.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I think Restoration Hardware's mission statement is "things you didn't know you wanted." As the name says, it did start as a store selling period-style hardware for people who were restoring old homes. I remember when it was considerably more oriented towards pulls, doorknobs and the like, plus upscale versions of things found in old school hardware stores, like enamelware for the kitchen, toys and garden tools. Under the current management, it seems to be going for upscale stuff that costs considerably more than antiques.

It will be OK, Allyson.

Hey Jen (was it Jen?), did anyone tell you you can turn off all the "helpful" stuff your trackpad can do in the mouse (?) preferences?

Aha! Thanks, Jesse.

I think my lack of hourly nicotine infusion has depressed my mood somewhat. I'm not sad depressed, but I am definitely more lethargic and WTFever, life, than usual, so... I'm going to go buy some sort of herbal stuff for improved mood, even though I question that any of it actually works chemically, because I am so suggestible that a sugar pill would work for me if I didn't know better. Which knowing about myself, you might think would counteract the placebo effect, yet doesn't.
