I had old Sassys from issue 1. I think that was courtesy of my mother. No idea how she heard about it! I either aged out of them or the quality declined in later years, as my interest waned before I left for college. No idea what happened to them.

That's how its effectiveness as a hair-growth dealie was discovered -- it was prescribed as an oral medication for (IIRC) angina, or some cardiac thing, and one of the side effects was notable hair growth.
Wait, it was taken orally?
What the hell is Sassy?!
Sassy was a teen magazine that started in the late 80s. It was sort of Seventeen's hipper, more honest cousin.
I'm going to take a stand and say you are most definitely cool enough for hair that awesome, zuisa. I'm rarely wrong, too, just FYI.
Good job on being healthy, Hec. Keep that up.
I have GOT to figure out what my touch pad is doing, obviously trying to be helpful by zooming the screen in and out, but I'm not trying to do it. I can't figure out what the combo of moves I'm making is so that I can stop doing it. Really pissing myself off! Suddenly the text is gigantor, and then it's itty, itty, bitty. And I don't know why! There needs to be research.
There are a few eyelash thingies. All the same active, I think. I have a tube that, using it probably half of the time, has lasted about two years. It's still not cheap. I don't think I'd do it for just the vanity of the lashes. But add in less allergy eyes and the ability to wear makeup because my eyes aren't watering, itching or swollen? Yeah, probably. Though I also have a thingie (thingie - for every time Cass doesn't know the actual noun) of Latisse because my stepmom got some and decided she really didn't care to use it. Mine.
Guess I'm doomed to thin eyelashes because that is way too pricey for me.
I just got a TouchPad, Jen! I can't help you, though, I can't replicate the problem.

I don't know what's in the others. Latisse is the only one that has the glaucoma med, because, y'know, it's a drug. The Fed cracked down on the company (Jan Marini) that was using it as a strictly cosmetic product. Actually, the first time I used it was the Jan Marini Eyelash; I liked it better the way they had it packaged! But it worked the same.
Hey, Zen - thanks. I may be using the wrong word, though. It's my laptop... the pad beneath the keyboard where the mouse buttons are, and the pad you swipe to move around on. Something that I do when I'm not really even meaning to use it keeps causing the zooming in and out. Not all the time, but enough to irritate me! And then there's some issue where if I rest a finger on it too long it executes a move. It's... a delicate hothouse flower, apparently.
I read Sassy for the longest time. I cut up a bunch of magazines to do collages and got rid of the rest.
I bought it at the grocery store every month and when I finally decided to get a subscription (don't know why I waited) that was when Sassy got sold and turned into a Seventeen clone. I think I started reading about issue 4 or 5 (maybe I don't know now). It introduced me to a whole world I had no idea that existed and I remember looking at the fashions and wishing I had enough guts to try something new. I never did, it was easier to hide by dressing really plain. I did go crazy and buy the t s hirt with Neil the art director on it.
I even learned what Goth was really and not just seeing peopel dressed in black and wondering. I thought it was cool and related but didn't try to enter the subculture.
The few times I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried to dress differently I got teased by my so called "best friend" or found out about unflattering comments said and just never tried again.
