I had to put on jeans and a fleece to walk to the pool. And even that was chilly. Going from a high in the high to mid 80s to 65 in 24 hours is a bit much.

I was cold all day and everything hurt. Bleah.

I had him inspect it all, too, to make sure everything was cool. He says it is. I'm waiting for the steering wheel to turn to dust in my hands.

My friend M, who is 37, has thinning hair, especially along her part. She has always hd very thing hair, and her mother and grandmother have/had less and less hair as they aged. She has been tested by her doctor for vitamin deficiencies, thyroid, etc. She is considering Rogaine "for women". Does anyone know anyone with experience with this product?

Sophia, my hair has thinned a bit, and my mom's side had some female baldness, so I kind of freaked out when it started happening. I talked to my hairdresser about it and she said that rogaine (though she was talking about the non-brand name stuff) works to prevent further hair loss, but does nothing to bring back the hair that's fallen out. I haven't tried it myself...it hasn't gotten so bad that my vanity has trumped by laziness.

Oh my god, Dirt! I gave my brother the issue of Dirt that came with my Sassy subscription, and it never saw the light of day again.

And I have no idea what happened to my stack of Sassys.

My hair started thinning terribly when I had the "thyroid incident". My hairline receded so far I looked like a middle-aged guy. Rogaine worked. Then I started using a product (Dr. Lewenberg's Hair Something) that sounds like snake oil and is, unfortunately, marketed like snake oil, but it works. It a combination of minoxidil (Rogaine) and Retin-A. The hair has grown back at my temples and I'm seeing new growth around the hairline where doctors and hairstylists all said it would never grow back.

Incidentally, the only difference I can tell between Rogaine "for men" and Rogaine "for women" is that the women's version is less concentrated and has an intolerable flowery scent. I used the men's version.

Sassy inspired me to make zines (the old school photocopy and mail/trade kind) and therefore got me into writing. I hope Rookie does this for other girls. I'm so happy for all involved and wish it to be huge.
