For a while, I tried not letting myself turn on the TV in the evening until 9pm, reasoning that it would spur me to get off the couch and be productive. It worked for a while...but it was too easy to find exceptions as to why I had to turn the TV on.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Please let my car be ready.
Also, since I was home, I emailed a bazillion tv critics who loved Terriers to ask if they'd link me in a column. Which feels terribly self-serving.
And also feels kind of dumb. It's a teevee show. Why am I so annoyed? Also, talk me down from the craxy.
Man, I just called someone on FB a homophobe for comparing homosexual marriage to pedophilia/incest. Can I feel OK about that or is that just name calling?
(there were other people being more "educational" than I but damn, I am tired of the haters.)
I think you can feel OK about it Nora. A thing I've heard about race is that people can "hear" it better if you say their statement is racist, not that they are "A Racist." For future use, maybe.
Um, Allyson, I think emailing TV critics about a TV show is totally un-craxy. They need material, don't they?? You're just helping them find the right thing to write about.
Well, yeah. That's homophobic. Call it out when it's racist, sexist, homophobic, whatever.
Teh video of the kitten in the tiny hat eating ice cream was actually physically soothing. I'm such a sucker for a kitten.

Yeah. I'm just feeling like it's kind of futile, I guess. I mean, I can download them on iTunes, and that's all they're going to say. It's available. Go. And I see the point. It sucks.
Eh, so you spend some time on something that may or may not work out. It's not like you're sinking your savings into it, right?
Tavi Gevinson's Rookie went live today. Jane Pratt is official godmother.
God, I miss Sassy, even though I was way too old for it.
I think it's more admirable a thing to organize oneself and go after the thing, than bitch futilely about never having it (which is what I'm doing, about only the first season of The Sentinel being out).
