Continued best wishes to Maria and her DH.
we just drove down the westside hey from gw bridge to the battery and I got all teary. I miss it.
Oh yeah.
So the alarms in my building started going off at about a quarter to four this morning. It wasn't an actual problem -- I guess the people on the first floor burned some food? I don't know. I made some calls (as did other people, apparently), but the fucking thing went off for like 45 minutes. I hate that it's not tied into any kind of response mechanism! In short: zzzz.
I was supposed to be going to a funeral this morning but I had no way of getting there. It's definitely not a funeral where my absence will be noted, but I still feel bad that I'm not there.
Cashmere, you mean "smonster" literally? Heh.
zuisa, that sucks. I'm sorry you couldn't find a way there.
I did not do laundry last night. I went drinking instead. So now I have to decide whether to chance going to the laundromat today, or just wash some underwear by hand. I think the latter course may win.
Timelies all!
Have taken the cats to the vet. Other than Nova being a bit overweight(we will change the feeding routine to see if that helps) they're fine.
I saw Steve Zahn waiting outside a restaurant here that I had just eaten at (Irene's).
Hey, how is that place?
Nora, do you get the NOLA Ready emails?
I don't. Let me see if I can get on that.
Maybe you should go to a laundromat/bar. There are several in the area. I know Buddha Belly uptown for sure.
Not cheap, but really really good. We ate there while they had their St. Joseph's altar up, it was pretty awesome.
Hmm, laundromat/bar...
Ay smonster, I feel your pain on the laundry front and I have the liberty of doing mine at home. I just... so many loads... it's daunting.
In family news, Isaac lost his first tooth last night, and an eye tooth at that! Bummer for him was it went down the bathroom sink. There were many tears at the thought that the tooth fairy would be passing him by, but I suggested writing a note to her and Franny, playing the role of good big sister, wrote out: "I lost my tooth. I lost it." So he put the note under his pillow. We'll see how long it takes him this morning to go rummaging about for his reward.
Aw, Isaac! I certainly hope the tooth fairy got the note!
She did, Jesse (or *he* did in this case). Took Franny about 1 minute to spearhead a search mission into Isaac's room. Note from the fairy and money have been found.
