Natter 68: Bork Bork Bork
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Thinking of Maria and her DH this morning. Hope the surgery and recovery go well.
Also sending out ~ma to Steph for her procedure this morning.
The kids start school next week, which means this is the last weekday I get to wake up at 8 for a long time. That's the only dud about school starting, I need to shift my wake up to 6:30.
Mr. Tyler was apparently a rich source of data for a table of eavesdropping psycholgists.
I can' imagine that was highly entertaining. Goodness knows, I'd love to have him on my couch.
I once tossed bread bits at G. Gordon Liddy's back in a restaurant called "Bilbo Baggins" in Alexandria. My date was certain I was going to get us arrested.
Oooh! And which daughter??
Um, I seem to have forgotten this already, but it must have been a not famous daughter. Someone with lots of tattoos and an annoying voice, I was told, but that is not very discriminating on a college campus.
I know this means that I'm going to have to watch at least one episode of American Idol this winter.

Ah well.

Heh.
Given the number of celebs living in Brooklyn, it's amazing I don't have more encounters. As it is, I've seen Morgan Sperlock at the playground, Steve Buscemi and John Tuturo on the subway. I managed to live down the street from Michele Williams and Heath Ledger for a year without ever catching a glimpse of either one!
Fringe and Damages used to shoot in my neighborhood, but I was never around at the right time to see Joshua Jackson or Glenn Close.
Growing up in DC, my brush with political fame was sharing an elevator with Marion Barry. My sister can beat me, though, because she performed onstage at Clinton's '93 inauguration. (With the Clintons, Gores, and assorted other big name musicians. She was in the elementary school choir in the background.)
But Big!Boss does the shit where he says one thing one month and the next month loses his shit at us for doing it because we should KNOW that we should NEVER do it. That crap is classic alcoholic parent bullshit. When you can't count on your authority figure to be consistent, and you get punished for it, well, it still pushes my buttons.
Yeah, I'm more with ACOA reactions on the Teppy side of things than the Scrappy side.
~ma for Matt's friend, Maria, and Maria's DH.
Man! A crazy ass tropical depression spring up in the Gulf out of nowhere (seriously, we've been obsessing over the weather for weeks because of friends coming in from out of town and this wasn't even on the radar till yesterday) and it's supposed to dump like 15 inches of rain on New Orleans over the next 5 days.
Welcome to NOLA, friends for far away places... at least it's not a zillion degrees?
I managed to live down the street from Michele Williams and Heath Ledger for a year without ever catching a glimpse of either one!
Same here but two years with Harrison Ford and Calista. And Glenn Close's apartment in Damages was across the street from them! L&O was constantly taping down in Battery Park, but still-- nothing. I lived in Chelsea and didn't even see Ethan Hawke! Dsy jobs, mang.

When I was in L.A. a few years ago, Joshua Jackson jogged past me.
And since I had just gotten a texting package, I texted like half my address book. It was fun.
Mr. Tyler was apparently a rich source of data for a table of eavesdropping psycholgists.
Hah.
Teppy, I had a root canal several years ago. It was, I admit, a couple of hours of discomfort from keeping my mouth open, and then the pain that had been bothering me for days went away. That part was excellent.
And I'm now rather better about flossing.
It's a Spare the Air Day in the Bay Area, which usually signals hot weather, but it's only a little warmer today than it has been. Just clearer, with a haze layer over the Bay--I can't see the city from my office.
I am cranky and out of sorts for no good reason.
