Allyson, my wife is your age and we have infant twins sleeping blissfully in the next room.
Nor were either of us considered likely to marry anyone before we started dating each other. When my (now) wife moved to a University within driving distance from mine and told some of our academic acquaintances that she was thinking of dating me, she was told "Don't do it! It won't work out! He is very charming but he is a lone-wolf. Always has been, always will be" We were talking about marriage 6 months later.
Life's a fucking blast.
Oh, honey. I wish you could come here for a few days and let me pamper you. Anytime you want, just yell.
He is very charming but he is a lone-wolf.
Ooh, the mysterious vibe. How old are the twins now?

I'm ordinary. I haven't made a real difference in the world.
I beg to differ, and I bet most of us would say the same, not to mention your family and friends and all the people who love you. You've made a difference in many people's lives by showing up and being your kind, lovely, funny, thoughtful, caring self, and apart from, like, Mother Teresa, that's all most of us can hope for.
Speaking of twins, one of my friend's 5 year old twins just asked "Mommy, will you help me make a goth hat?"
Which I'm sure my friend can do (very crafty, goth enthusiast) and will hopefully post pictures of soon!
man, and, Maria. yeah, feh. Wishing for much brighter days ahead for you.
I hope things turn for the better for you, Maria.
