Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Also, typing that about the biting made me realize how anxious I am for no good reason, and have been for a while. If the storm coming through doesn't fix it, I'll call my therapist on Monday for an appointment. I have a feeling it's only going to get worse over the next two weeks.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

One adult fail thing taken care of! This must be my doctor's weekend on call, because she refilled the prescription already.

I possibly bought way too much stuff at TJs. Shopping for a party hungry? EVERYTHING seems like a good idea. It was surprisingly civilized: there were no lines! But the rain had started about 90 minutes earlier,so.

Contemplating cleaning. Was going to tomorrow, but not like I am doing anything else until later tonight!

OK, gonna enter my lap times, tidy and start cleaning.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Good for you, Jesse. It's hard to recognize that stuff sometimes.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

If I were in the Hamptons, I'd be partying. But since I'm home, I'm partying anyway.

Teppy, I must thank your fine city for providing me with the nectar known as Twisted Tea. Half a bottle and I am feeling noooo pain. And you would not know this is not just tea. It tastes like just tea, but it definitely has alcohol in it. Whoooboy, does it.

Now, to get back to trying to write 10,000 words of Big Bang before Sept. 1st.

Aw, man -- I thought there was more left in my bottle of rum (yo ho!) than there was. So I'm really having a Light & Drizzly (as opposed to Dark & Stormy). But it's still kind of delicious.

Thanks, Leise.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I got up this morning and hauled home my CSA vegetables and the fruit box, which was a total upper body workout considering the fruit box had ten million apples, pears, plums, oranges, grapes and strawberries.

I have an enormous orange squash, so big that roasting it is going to be entertaining. I think it's a golden hubbard?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I need to request soothing hair pats or pep talks: I just sent an email introducing myself and requesting an interview to the booking agent of one of THE Olde Skool gothy icon bands, The Damned. They're touring the States for their 35th anniversary, and I really want to interview them for Gothic Charm School

Holy crap, what have I done? DAVE VANIAN. THE DAMNED. I am not cool enough to have sent that email.

Whew, good karate workout this morning. I still can't do push-ups though without my shoulder screaming. I see my doc Monday for something else, so I'm going to see about getting it imaged.

Think I'm going to cook some CSA corn.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Come on, Irene!

Too Rye Ayy!

That song's been in my head all week as the storm approached.
