hip deep in pie

I got up at 7 to go to the farmer's market. Hemmed and hawed and decided I didn't really need to go...so I had an hour long nap on the couch.

Now I am eating French toast that I made myself w. maple syrup and blueberries. And coffee. Mmmm.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Liese, my dad has an Odyssey and likes it a lot. The built-in GPS is kind of crappy, but I think that's an optional feature (and it's entirely likely they've improved it in the 6 years since he bought that car).

So far no hurricane here. Not even rain. Tying to decide if I should get the kids outside while there's still time, or if I should be battening down the hatches.

information libertarian

Jessica, get outside now while you can. You'll have LOTs of time to be cooped up inside with two energetic children and possibly no power later. Run them hard now!

Trust my rage

I know the Sienna isn't still in the running but we rented one three years ago to drive my New Mexico, through Utah, and back through Arizona. It was so amazing and really went a long way toward convincing me that if I ever buy a minivan, that will be it. We were able to set up exactly the arrangement we needed (with three adults, a toddler, and infant. And a swing and double jogging stroller and cooler and bags.)

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

My knee is feeling better, but bending is still a bit problematic. Stairs are my nemesis.(Great, I'm an old-school Dalek.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So I went to the supermarket last night, but I might actually go back for ice cream and liquor. What was I thinking??

Well, we got a little bit of rain. Now it's just muggy.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

NC report: intermittent rain and gusty wind, but just to the point of having a lot of small branches etc. down. It looks like the storm lost a lot of power overnight, and I'm wishing for it to stay the same heading north.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'm posting this link mainly as a present for Dana when she wakes up:

Dana has to share though, right?
