Mal: Cut it out. Job's not done until we're back on Serenity. Zoe: Sorry, sir. Didn't mean to enjoy the moment.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I have to live with this cut until it grows out a bit, probably until mid-October. Then, I have to find a hairdresser who is experienced with curly hair and can give me some advice on a decent cut. I've never had it this naturally curly in my life, so I have no idea on what style I should go with.

My hair went from slightly wavey to curly in my mid-30's (dang, that sounds forever ago) and I went through this. Heck, I'm still going through it. I've played with a bunch of different styles. Right now I'm working on growing it out, so it doesn't really have a style right now.

zuisa - it is perfectly understandable to be upset over a cut you don't like. Is it something you could go back and have tweaked? If not, just hang in there. During my style experiments I kept reminding myself, it is going to grow whether I like it or not.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think my hair always freaks out after a cut, and I can't tell what it really looks like for a couple of days.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The point of my haircuts is to not have hair. But when I accidentally started clipping without a guard, I had a freakout and had to call someone over. Luckily the blades were maximally extended, so I wasn't shaving myself bald, but it was the start of the stubble period. And now it's the only way I want to wear my hair. I wish I could have someone on hand to clip it every month.

Or, you know, not be so slack myself.

YAY my boots arrived!

I splurged madly the other day because the boots I'd been waiting for at Zappos finally came in. They're very simple Frye boots that I hope I can wear for years and years. So now I'm sitting with them on my bare feet under my capri pants--I look ridiculous.

Yay for new boots.

K-Bug's boyfriend is in the Air Force and he recently gave CJ a pair of his steel toed Air Force boots and CJ LOVES them. It is kinda crazy. My favorite was when he decided to wear them to karate and had tucked his gi pants into the boots. Now that was a "look".

Oh my god I just shed actual tears over this haircut. People everywhere are dealing with actual legitimate issues and here I am weeping over hair. I feel like I have just regressed in age ten years or something.

Aww. I have been there--one time I decided to get my hair cut short, and walked out of the salon sobbing, telling my friend (who was all "it's not that bad!") "NO, I look like the BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN" I, too, am of the "it takes my hair a few days to calm down and do what it's going to do" after a haircut. And I'm not super pleased with what mine is doing right now, but c'est la vie...it does grow. It will get better. Wear some cute earrings.

Yes, wear cute earrings, and wear some bright lipstick.

All this haircut talk reminds me that I need to have Pete trim my bangs. And I'm really thinking about getting layers so I can indulge in some Big Hair.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

There were some apple slices and tomatoes in my salad, so probably not a whole serving of fruit, but at least it was accompanied by a lot of lettuce.

What complete bullshit. Dream on.

What would you do for free? Well you must find out what it is and quit your job so you can do it. You will enjoy your work much more and will become an expert in your field.

That's such a privileged point of view.

I've gone down the stairs twice today. I leave a lot.

(I so want to ditch the company picnic. Would anyone notice?)
