Hey, preaching to the choir. I thought our Lady of the Perpetual Sea Breeze was the real deal until the Divine Miss J walked right through that door and right into my ass—which is where my heart is…physiologically. I could show you an x-ray.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Has anybody indulged in any arithmetic function this morning?

Not this morning, but yesterday I finished a spreadsheet that takes measurements in inches, computes the lengths you need to draft a bodice, sleeve and skirt pattern black, and makes them available in centimeters and fractions. I am pretty proud. I just hope I chose a method that will work fairly well.

I am awed at your composure

Heh, not so sure about composure. I'm pretty good during an emergency, but I tend to fall apart after. Plus right now I'm living in denial that there is a chance of a bigger issue.

I had a peach!

And I've been doing math all morning, even explaining it to other people. And for some reason my Excel has decided I need to hit F9 everytime I change a number (it forces the spreadsheet to recalculate instead of it doing it automatically).

hip deep in pie

I have a fruit tip for everybody: Peaches are in season!

I have several in my fridge, going bad, while I don't make pie of them.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Breakfast included a can of tropical salad (mostly pineapple and mango). And there were a couple slices of plantain at lunch.

It's pouring rain outside (Irene has arrived) and I may resort to my emergency stash of no-sugar-added applesauce.

Nah, it's still the midwest passing along their storms. We won't be seeing Irene until the weekend....

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Yeah, DC is probably getting the storm that hit PA a few hours ago.
