Just got caught up on all of Natter since last Thursday--whew! Such a lot going on here.

Quickly:

I love the hivemind! Yay, Maria and Allyson! And way to go with getting that loaner.

Hope everyone is okay after the earthquake.

Welcome, Darth Cheesecake!

Don't scare your mom, CJ's nose. Eww.

Went to my brother's wedding north of Tampa this weekend. I still have to download my photos tonight, including a fantastic one the waiter at Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City took of Mom, sis, and me, which I'm going to have blown up and framed for part of their Christmas gifts, it's that good. We were talking about making sure we get together more often than we currently do.

The weekend itself was pretty successful, with a minimum of family drama (my brother and new SIL had a bit of a hissy fit because the three of us girls wanted a day to ourselves and the two of them wanted us over for dinner on Saturday night after we'd already seen them on Friday night, so we finally headed over there for just an hour). Wedding was small but sweet, I found out that the wife of one of my brother's co-workers was from Joliet, and my new stepniece and -nephew are great kids.

Mom and sis had both seen me in April, 50 pounds ago, but I guess those 50 pounds were pretty altering because they were both plotzing over the new me. My sister said that from behind, I looked like "a normal person," and Mom measured our wrists with her mini tape measure--turns out sis and I have the same size wrists even though I'm still 90 pounds heavier than her. I'm going to have thin wrists and fingers by the time I'm done! Brother and new SIL hadn't seen me since last August (pre surgery), and they were flipping out, too.

I did drink a lot this weekend, and have had too much ice cream in the two days since I got back. No more of that from here on out!!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Oh, Burrell, I hope it's much of a nothingness.

We get to wear t-shirts and jeans tomorrow! Because of the company wide picnic. Which I really don't want to attend, but homeslice will be busting out one of her fandom tees, that's for sure.

Still no joy with the meds. Pharmacy is being incredibly cranky.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hoping for nothing, Burrell.

Behave, ita's pharmacy!

This is why I am not an adult. What I intend to do: Go online to check Bank of America's business account balance. What I actually do: Go online, get on facebook, send messages about student (valid), chat with student (less valid), follow a rabbit trail, look up after a half hour, and realize I'm reading theOatmeal.

What I intend to do: Go online to check Bank of America's business account balance. What I actually do: post on b.org how I failed to do former.

ita!'s pharmacy had better get it together.

Oh, and I meant to ask--Maria, are you in town for a while? We could meet for dinner up here, or maybe go downtown if you'd like. I could take you to my favorite Uzbek restaurant in Wheeling, maybe? I've been craving their lamb kabobs and spicy carrot salad.

Not that I don't love how great you look and feel about yourself, but you always looked like a normal person to me :)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Sending me to other web comics is not the answer to the problem of getting distracted by web comics!

Also, does anyone else find that the recent "shopping for a chassis" storyline over on Questionable Content is creepy, what with it being all pretty female robot bodies and all?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Ditto!

Yes! Also because I *love* Momo just the way she is. She rocks. t edit I also think Momo will end up keeping her current chassis, because the rest of the anthroPCs are small, and it would be weird for Momo to be human-sized.

That's what I told her!! She was all, "You know what I meant."

It was nice wearing my new size 18 swimsuit, even though I did manage to get fried on my front (I forgot to flip over and get equally red on my back--oops!). The pool at the Hotel Intercontinental in Tampa is tiny, so laps were not an option. And the burn was so bad that we decided to forget about going to the beach the next day. We went shopping in Ybor City and Dunedin instead--got a bunch of jewelry and a really neat photo (of a Cuban castle's courtyard, which had a bunch of stairwells that made the print look very Escher-esque) at the open-air market in YC before we headed over to the Cuban restaurant for lunch and then drove through Clearwater Beach to check it out. Got a nice bracelet watch in Dunedin before we checked into the hotel.

I'm with Vortex.

Thanks Perkins, ita !, Liese.
