Soldiers are essential, but won't get paid until the shutdown is over. Since this Friday is the halfway point in the pay period, they'll get a paycheck for one week instead of two. It's going to screw up the financial lives of a lot of enlisted soldiers. They're already paycheck to paycheck in the best of times.
thanks for the correction. I may have been in a rage blackout when I heard on the news that that soliders wouldn't get paid, so didn't process the rest.

Well, my current HMO is no longer going to be one of my choices for the next year. I hope that my local clinic will still be available to me - otherwise I'll have to change ALL of my doctors and it will be even less easy for me to get to them.
