But that's just my point! You she obeys! She obeys you! There's obeying going on right under my nose!

My neighbor kindly informed me our houses are still standing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Frank, we were probably most likely to feel it because my actual office area is on a beam that bridges two buildings across a street. A coworker said, "Am I drunk?? Or did the building just move???" Hee.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Doorframes is what I remember from training as kid. The idea of getting stuck on the stairs terrifies me.

Because books.

We were out doing errands and didn't feel a thing! Maybe it doesn't like the Philly suburbs.

It happened around two, I'm guessing?

Ann, that's a ferret.

Checking in. I was on my lunchtime walk/read, so I was right outside the National Museum of the American Indian and got to see the building swaying.

No damage, no required evacuations, but allowed administrative leave for the rest of the day.

You are clearly traumatized, Fred Pete, and must go home.

Well, it's not like anyone in my office is getting anything done for the rest of the day. It was about 1:55.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Aren't you supposed to stand underneath doorways, or something?

I'm not sure, I think there have been some changes recently in what's recommended.

So I'm going to whinge: 1. I have a sore throat. 2. My dog (whom I left at my sister's house while I went to Colorado) spent all 4 days having diarrhea, even in her crate. Nobody knows why. (And I'm going to the mountains for Labor Day weekend.) 3. The job situation is still up in the air. The big boss has two lists to look at, and the guys above me on the open list are clearly not qualified for my job, but there may be some on the merit promotion list. And if there are, then he will have to hire from that. And if there aren't, they are going to cancel the announcement and re-announce the job with Selective Placement Factors, and that would happen in like a month or six weeks.

::facepalm::

But hey, I talked to a former coworker and his firm is hiring. So I'm going to send him my resume.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

It was at 01:51:03 PM at the epicenter. I felt it in NYC two minutes later.
