Thanks everyone. I think it went well. I'm being brought in for a day's worth of interviews on Friday. They want to move forward.
Go Maria! Go Maria! Awesomeness!!

Yay Maria!
So did everyone but me know that Aldis Hodge and Stephen Fry were in an ad together?
TWICE I have read this as Aldis Hodge and Stephan Fry were together!
Fingers crossed, Maria! Remember, you're interviewing them as well -- are they good enough for =you to work for them=?
(I saw a friend go through three jobs in 18 months because she took the first offer each time, for places that were, frankly, skeevy -- two of them went bankrupt, and the other she was harassed out the door. Perhaps the law of averages wasn't working on her behalf, but I think she was lacking in picking up warning signals....)
Yay Maria!!!
I just went for a short hike (about 90 minutes) on a island in the harbour. I was nice, but I am really out of shape.
Yay, Maria, that sounds very positive!
I failed at being social, but succeeded at buying groceries, so half-credit for the day, I guess.
Baby Kitty! I love the one with Frankie and the kitty-- he has a friend!
It is positive. It would be contract to perm for various reasons (which I'm OK with), but if it happens, now I have to turn down a job I've already accepted and which I'm scheduled to start after Labor Day. It's not the perfect job by any stretch--little career growth, no longer in management capacity--but it will keep a roof over our heads and food on the table.
The company I'd rather work for knows about this accepted position, and they also know that it's not what I ultimately want to be doing. I figured honesty was the best policy here.
What is the current slang term for marijuana? I just heard Craig Ferguson say "doobie", which makes me laugh. I feel like I would say pot, or maybe weed, but is there a new one?
I think of a doobie specifically as a joint. As far as I know, "pot" and "weed" are still acceptable slang terms.
