You know, with the exception of one deadly and unpredictable midget, this girl is the smallest cargo I've ever had to transport. Yet by far the most troublesome. Does that seem right to you?

They pay me in WOIMS

~ma for Maria.

I am finally getting off of my butt and making solid vacation plans! I am a reservation-making machine!

    • August 27–31: Los Angeles! Staying at the PixDesigns.
    • August 31–Sept: 2 Hotel Santa Barbara. (not really the B&B type, megan).
    • Sept 2–5: Pismo Beach Motel 6 (getting a reservation for Labor Day is impossible or wicked expensive).
    • Sept 5–6: Madonna Inn
    • Sept 6–8: Big Sur. I need to call Deetjen’s on Monday and talk to a human to make a reservation.
    • Sept 8–12: San Francisco! Staying at javachik’s.
    • Further out, still kind of hazy. I’m going to go up to Seattle for a few days, and then back to SF, before leaving on the 17th.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

That sounds lovely! Left coast wins the Scola!

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Speaking of cheesecake, there is a middle eastern restaurant near my house that has a dessert that's a sort of baklava/cheesecake hybrid.

Ben and Jerry's used to have a baklavaish ice cream. It was nom nom nom.

The frozen custard place in DelRey (The Dairy Godmother) used to occasionally make a frozen custard with baklava in it. NOM.

Sounds like quite a trip, Scola! Awesome!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

You all made me hungry and wanting baklava. I do not have baklava. Instead I had an elkburger and I forgot to add the green chiles. Fail. But it was still pretty tasty.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Tom, that sounds great.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

So did everyone but me know that Aldis Hodge and Stephen Fry were in an ad together? [link]

ETA: Three ads, actually [link] and [link]

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

not really the B&B type, megan.

I thought of that! It's a B&B where you have your own bathroom and don't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to. And those are just two reasons it's fabulous.

Sept 5–6: Madonna Inn

Oooh, did you request a particular room?
