Eh, if those are really your measurements, you might want to try there again...I mean, granted you have a much more impressive bosom than I do (though I'm around 37--but my ribs are huge! :), but my waist and butt are bigger than that and I can wear their 14s, usually.

Yes. Girdles are heavily structured, and well-made ones have all sorts of different powernet and compression fabrics. Spanx are ... dumb.

Spanx have their place, actually. I would do Spanx under a loosely structured dress where I just need some smoothing, where a girdle I reserve for vintage wear.
