Yeah, the HR guy asked if I wanted my cell phone on my business cards and my reply was basically "Not if they aren't paying for it" (although I think if I do use it for work they kick in for part of the bill, which is why I may just go all fancy and get the new Torch after all).

I live on my cellphone, but a little less so now that I have Google Voice, since it eliminates long distance charges. But it's doing data transmission all the time--though I have no international service, which is good.
My company has terrible benefits but one thing I am super thankful for is having my iPhone account paid for by them. I don't see a bill.

Do it! That's the reason I got a smartphone. They paid for a lot of the phone and are paying almost my entire monthly bill. It's awesome.
Though I *did* hear about it when I racked up a $1,700 bill when I visited Argentina and Chile. I had just gotten an iPhone and it was on the default set up that IT set up for me. Which, was to check work email approximately 1300 times a day. Yikes!
Oh deeeeear. Definitely a good thing they ate that.

But that would mean I'm working when not in the office, which I try to avoid. Of course, I probably won't be able to avoid it for long when I have my own projects.
megan, it will mos def (your favorite!) come into play when you start traveling to meet clients.

Yeah, our new travel policy explicitly states we are not getting our cellphones reimbursed. Which we all went "Bzuh?" at, since currently we get up to $75 a month (just have to remember to send in the bill every month). We all kinda thought "Well, given how we travel, if you don't pay for it, I"m not using it for work. Which is going to make it hella hard to get a hold of me..." (ETA: Bosses have currently said that does not apply, and I haven't been testing the new $120/day meal policy either (currently $70))
meara, that's B.S. for a job like yours!!
It depends on what they ask of you. For me, I just had to install the Good app, which I've found is actually pretty useful because I can easily check my work e-mail and shoot off quick responses on my way to the office so I feel like I am clocked in and, most importantly, it has my calendar. Which has the numbers for the conference calls I usually end up taking on my way to the office. But it is made of magic! Because when you click on the number to call in, IT CAN ALSO ADD THE CONFERENCE CODE.

Yep, that's the same thing we have. Glad to see it's sweeping the industry!
Does anyone have scrappy's cell? I desperately need to talk to Jason. I am having the most fucked up car issue and I'm scared and panicking and I think he'll tell me what I should say.

We have $100/day, but $150/day in expensive cities. Like Chicago. So when we went to Moto, we used our entire per diem on that one meal and paid the difference.
