OK, so I'm kinda stuck with this roofer until 2019, due to the warranty and all (this repair should not cost me anything) but can I say how dubious I am of them? During the initial reroofing prior to closing, they sealed the drain on the kitchen roof. Cue rainstorm and kitchen ceiling coming down. They fix. 2010 blizzards, I find a shovel on the roof. I remove it. Cue this week, leak, discovery of second shovel on roof. I mean, REALLY.

At least they were prompt. I called yesterday, they sent someone out today and repairs were done. But I also got a lecture on my answering machine about not using a metal shovel on the roof and the shovel a) is a fucking roofing shovel b) heavy as hell and rusted like whoa and c) has a 3 foot handle that was broken off.

Ahrg. I'm going to have to pull out all my southern ice queen moves on the phone. Because I will not let them void the warranty, and will not be pushed around.

Our wings are not tired.

Eh, I'm sure it comes and goes.

When it's long conversations, it's easier to scroll over I guess.

I'm jokingly chiding ita ! but it's not like I'm the thread topic police or anything. Just...I'm gonna chide like I am a prudish auntie!!

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Amy, I'm so sorry.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I hadn't heard back from someone who's notorious for not getting back, so I got a wee bit snippy in my email, and....she wrote back that she had been out of the office because her husband had emergency surgery.

Honestly? She's not having the surgery. Add an out-of-office message to your email. Sounds like consistent behavior to me, and no reason for feeling guilty. People have family emergencies all the time.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't post that much in Bitches, so if I'm going to be dirty, it will probably be here, Never paused to think about it.

God, I'm exhausted. But if I go to bed now, I'll be up all hours tomorrow morning. Then again, there's a fanfic thing I need to be up early for. So maybe I win.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Honestly? She's not having the surgery. Add an out-of-office message to your email. Sounds like consistent behavior to me, and no reason for feeling guilty. People have family emergencies all the time.

Yeah, of course in retrospect, I ran into her at lunch, and she said she was going to do the thing this afternoon, and...still nothing. So eh.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I'm sorry, Amy. It's not easy even when it's time.

I asked who was our point of contact there, and her response was "I will be working with Jeff and Lucy".

The response to that would be, "So who am I working with?" I know it's like constant nails on blackboard, Consuela.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I asked who was our point of contact there, and her response was "I will be working with Jeff and Lucy".

That also sounds like she hasn't actually done anything yet.

Dear Giants fans:

Notice my restraint.

Because books.

In other news, Ben and Jerry's Peach Cobbler ice cream emphatically Does Not Suck. God, I needed that.
