A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Get it, ita! You have a LOT of tech, weapons and clothes. I have abut three personal friends who were wiped out when neighbor's apartments caught fire and caused a lot of smoke damage and incidental water damage, and one who's stuff was ruined when the upstairs neighbor's pipes burst and deluged her apartment.

One had insurance, and recouped losses fairly easily and quickly; the others didn't, and they lost almost everything, to the tune of tens of thousands -- normal people, not rich, but we accumulate more than we think.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I mean, it might take $25,000 to replace all at once, but that isn't really how insurance works, right?

That's pretty much exactly how renters insurance works.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I was at a dog-friendly bar yesterday, and there were TWO puppies: [link]

Is the little guy a French Bulldog? I am recently obsessed with them.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I can price my electronics fairly simply. It's my clothing and jewelry that give me most pause. And then the furniture would also be a headache. Plus all the incidentals.

French Bulldog?

Yep.

Move to San Francisco, we're infested with them. (I love them.)

Thrive to spite them

I have $25,000 coverage even though I know my stuff isn't worth it and it probably wouldn't cost me that much to replace everything. But I'd rather be over insured than under.

Good to know! I was picturing listing my possessions, and they are like:

  • Coffee Table- from side of the road
  • sideboard- from side of the road
  • 2 dressers- from side of the road
  • sofa (mid century)- $50 at Salvation Army
  • Chair- $19 at salvation army
  • cat condo- $9

etc, etc. I mean, I like the stuff because I like old stuff, and it has taken me years to find it all at a price I want (some of the things I bought at flea markets as a kid) but it is not worth much monetarily, especially since I have painted a lot of it.

Meep!

I found out this weekend that Darby is a championship camper. Off-leash all weekend and she never went more than a few yards into the woods unless one of us was with her. Though the campground did kind of look like there might have been a highly localized meteor shower. [link]
