Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh, Amy. What a hard time.

And then I think about everyone my grandmother knew aside from my mom and dad and us kids is already dead.

My grandmother talks about that, and it's got to suck. Note to self: Die in middle of peer group?

So, the Twitter tells me, apparently there was some big To Do in downtown Boston tonight, around a Mac Miller (some new rapper) concert and possible shots fired. I was within blocks and missed the whole thing. Huh.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, Amy, I'm sorry.

Because books.

Note to self: Die in middle of peer group?

This cracked me up. Heh.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I am so sorry Amy. Wishing you strength.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I went outside. It was a mistake! So rainy! But I gave blood and used a groupon to get a lot of fancy cheese at a discount, so good on both counts. Now I have changed my clothes and am drying off.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My friend Alison has three kids: Kate (the eldest, about 15), Mark and Claudia (twins, about 13).

So I was surprised when Alison's FB status read: "i never knew i had a favorite child until recently, when i learned it was claudia."

Yeah, she'd walked away and left her computer logged on.

Cashmere, I'm just warning you now that Owen is probably only minutes away from a similar such coup.
