I would suggest Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream but it's only sold in Oakland, San Jose and a couple of places in San Francisco.
I'm currently stuck on our local soft serve place called Belts. They do a flavor of the week soft serve and it's pretty heavenly.
Now I want ice cream. I'm biting my nails through the Wisconsin election results and trying to work on our annual trivia contest pictures.
I'm going to take a moment to point out that a local fantasy author is Wearing an awesome t-shirt in a photo from his book signing. It says, "Joss Whedon is my master now."
Burrell, it's a general Gothic Charm School Q&A -type panel.
Babybats, ask me your questions
sort of thing.
Ooooh, ice cream. I think I would stab somebody for a hot fudge sundae right now. Or a blackberry shake made with fresh blackberries and Tillamook ice cream.
I think my favorite ice cream flavor is B&J's Strawberry Cheesecake, which is wonderfully strawberry-ish and has that delicious ribbon of graham crackers in it. Yum.
I think the best easily available vanilla is Breyer's Natural, with the bits of vanilla bean and the ingredient list of "Milk, Cream, Sugar, Natural Tara Gum, Natural Vanilla Flavor." (Dreyer's is a different company altogether. It's owned by Nestle and is Dreyer's in some parts of the country and Edy's in others. Breyer's is made by a different giant evil conglomerate.)
Has James Van der Beek just been making a career of being James Van der Beek lately? He was on the Daily Show a few days ago, talking about Katie Holmes (well, supposed to be, while the interviewer just kept asking him why Dawson and Joey couldn't end up together), and he's playing himself in this Ke$ha video, and there was that pilot announced where he also plays himself.
Ahrg. I need to motivate. I managed to stay in bed (not asleep, but anyway) until 7:30 since I'm off today, but I need to vacuum, swim, pedicure and pack.

Yeah, apparently. And it's pretty funny, no?
I'm a little disgruntled because the ice cream of my motherland (the original Steve's) is apparently being reborn in Brooklyn. Not Right!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY! I hope you get lots of ice cream AND cake!
