Zoe: Uh huh. River, honey? He's putting the hair away now. River: It'll still be there... waiting.

Because books.

If I'm just running out, I'll grab my wallet and cigarettes and keys and go. Like, to the grocery store quick or something. Otherwise, I usually have my bag, but I don't actually need all the stuff I carry -- it's more the space usually makes me think, "Yeah, it would be good to have a few tampons in here, and maybe some mascara and a notebook." And then most of the time I never need what's in there anyway.

If I'm going out for the night (to a bar or dancing), I usually carry phone in back pocket, ID/credit/money in the other back pocket, lip gloss and house keys in front pocket. If I have a hoodie, I keep the earbuds in it, sometimes the lip gloss (I figure if I stick it in a corner, there'd be nothing in it I couldn't easily replace).

But if I'm not wanting to avoid a bag (going to coffee/library/dinner with people), I carry one--all the above plus the rest of my keys/RSA token/flash drive, box o' drugs (a little larger than a pack of cards), chapstick, kindle, maybe some paper and some pens...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Ah, yes, and at that time of the month or nearby, tampons. But I get why guys aren't packing for those. I always grab my bag if I'm leaving the apartment environs of my apartment building

I don't club in pockety wear. I could transfer it all into a jacket, but then I'd have treated the jacket like a bag but less organised.

Well, I usually wear jeans. And this is why my things-that-are-not-jeans don't get a lot of wear--because I don't want to have to carry a bag!

And men ALWAYS have pockets.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

And then most of the time I never need what's in there anyway.

I assume my bag will have everything I likely need. I was kinda bummed (because I was visiting San Diego and "bummed" is a valid feeling there) when I was lacking a safety pin that someone else could have used. I was also out of little packets of alcohol swabs but there was vodka nearby to use instead. What I did still have was a few OTC pharmaceuticals, a fan, lipstick, a notepad, a foldy bag and my sunglasses. And other things, but those were the ones used. It's a small bag too.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I have never heard Adele either, but that seems to be just dumb luck on my part. I clearly lack ita's superpower, or maybe it's just that 7 yo girls have an insatiable appetite for insipid pop music.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I heard Adele due to an X-Men First Class vid. I've run across a fair amount of recent music through fandom vids and recommendations, really. The local radio stations play either oldies or bland, generic pop and MTV has long since stopped playing music, so I don't know where else I'd find new stuff.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Do you have a TARDIS in your pants?

....or are you just happy to see me?

(Sorry. It was either that or "That's what she said!" I'm operating on very little sleep here.)

DH usually carries a backpack, and on vacation (when he doesn't need room for work stuff or a morning paper) he has a man-bag like this. And he has a briefcase which pretty much just comes out at job interviews. But for wallet/keys/chapstick, it's all pockets.

I've heard of Adele and I've probably heard some of her music, but I couldn't match up her name with any of her songs.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Men's pants have deeper pockets than women's for one thing, not to mention that they always have pockets.
