hip deep in pie

I skipped like a skipper to bring you greetings from the hospital cafeteria. Last night we saw a mouse in here, what will be the excitement tonight? Anyway, my dad is fine, this weekend is all about waiting. Mostly we're trying to keep him from being bored, so I've been recording the news and sports news on TiVo and bringing it in to him on my netbook. Last night, I taped the Red Sox game. He's been enjoying that.

My sister is being very passive aggressively bossy, and I am trying my best to not be passive aggressive back. (It's really hard!) We're getting along better than we normally do, but originally she was going to stay until tomorrow at the latest, but now she's saying she may stay until Wednesday.

Sigh.

Happy Birthday Tom!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Mama Nilly!

You know how there's this phenomenon where you get a metallic taste in your mouth for days-weeks after eating pine nuts from China? I got it. It's YUCKY. (Google "pine mouth" for details.

Oh no! I've been a little afraid of pine nuts since I heard about this phenomenon.

Sue, I'm glad your dad is okay.

Today, I was a catbed, managed to put the weekend swim total at 6.5 miles, bought a shoe rack to put some order to the closet and did my nails. That's about it.

I've decided to take Weds off to pack and clean, so that was my excuse for nonproductivity.

Happy birthday, Tom!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I would just like to take a moment to say, any day with nekkid Mal sitting on a rock is a good day. (Watching "Trash" over in Firefly.)

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Today, I was a catbed,

Hey, me too! (Dita has been really clingy lately.) I also went to TJs, neatened a little, and am just now making lemon bars. Other than that, I slounged a hell of a lot.

Good day!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

hivemind question - I have a pack of chicken sausage, the uncooked kind you slice off and cook in patties. Anyway, I bought the package a week or so ago and when I took it out of the fridge tonight the thing was tight with air, is this a sign it's gone bad?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

A kind of rough family dinner tonight -- started off learning that my second cousin's husband died suddenly at 49 -- they have 5 or 6 kids, three in college. Holy crap. And then my grandmother couldn't get the food down. Or out, apparently. Eventually she seemed OK, but my mother really wanted to take her to the hospital.

Oy.

Glad your family is more or less OK, Sue.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oy indeed, Jesse.
