"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ok! I will. That's what I was doing, but I thought it was because I was lazy!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Of course, you can save and upload if you really want to.....

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Happy birthday, Scola!

I'm in a jacked up position with our company because I'm contract, there's a hiring freeze, my boss has been trying to get me perm since before that. I'm doing much more than I was hired to do, but I can't get a raise for it, because that would require negotiations with the contractor company and they can't because of the sale. I can't even take PTO because there's no way of knowing if the TO will get Ped.

I still want to stick it out and see what happens because I love the company, my coworkers, and the job itself. I get credit and I'm learning so much and it actually uses all of my skills instead of letting my, say, creative skills languish while I use my cat herding skills. Plus it makes use of my pop culture knowledge and I get to write about tv and movies I like on occasion.

If I could just move on I would, but I would regret it if I could have stayed and left the perfect job. It's frustrating.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Ack, DJ, that's super frustrating.

I got... one or two raises in the 8 years I worked for a state university. Teeny ones. Once we got 40 hrs bonus leave instead, but just once. I don't anticipate getting much of a raise ever at my new job, either. Oh, well.

Swouncing

There aren't many things that can make me coherent enough lately, but Tom Scola's birthday is definitely worth the effort (I've had almost zero computer time in the past three weeks, and unlike any other computer-less periods, I've hardly felt it at all, which is probably one of the best ways to show how one's life can change so dramatically, even without realizing that).

But I'm not going to waste my precious in-front-of-a-computer minutes on meMeME! Oh, no!

Happy birthday, Tom! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!

Also, my deepest apologies to libkitty, whose birthday was on March 30th, and I regretably missed. I hope you had a great day, and an even more wonderful year!

And, since I have no idea when the stars align again and I can post more, I'll do it already now: Tuesday, April 5, will be Stephanie 's birthday, Wednesday, April 6, will be Amy's birthday, and I hope that by April 11th (Owen's birthday) and April 13th (Lillian's birthday) next week I'll be able to post a bit more again and wish them properly.

(Also, I miss posting with you guys!)

(Oh, and I promise more pictures of the person you're truly interested in seeing - and I totally can't blame you for that! - as soon as the one computer who has them is virus-free (yeah, isn't Murphy grand?), or we find the time to transfer all the others from the camera to a healthy computer. But we're definitely working on it! Order of priorities is important.)

And with that, *poof*, wish I could actually, you know, follow conversations and stuff, but alas, I'm gone.

Hey it's Pi-Baby's mom!

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Happy Scola day! And in honor, i now am earwormed with "Lola", but instead the refrain is "Scola, sk-sk-sk-Scola" (and no verses, the lyrics do not apply, only that little bit.)

Hi Nilly!

I'm also reminded that I really need to update my resume.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I just do not want to do my taxes. I am tired of fighting with the forms every year and trying to figure things out and just feeling stupid.

Yes, I know we should just pay someone. You can all talk to my husband about it.
