So glad there's good news about Sass. Get on home, doggy!

I've been getting up at about 8:30- 9 am this summer, which is early for me.
But D gets home from work at 2:45, and, much as I love him, I wish he got off at 5, so I could have a little more time to myself.
My longest commute was 45 minutes in 1997. My shortest is now -- roll out of bed and stagger to the office by my bedroom. My last 2 teaching jobs, the commute was 7 minutes.
Sparky, SO MANY good thoughts and -ma heading your way. Come home, Sassy! Your people miss you!
Jessica, thank you for getting the info about Sass to your parents. Please apologize for me for all the eye-catching posters (eye-catching = day-glo yellow & tacky) that will be going up in the neighborhood. I swear we will take them down when we're done.
Awesome video of the President quieting a crying baby. Seriously cute. What the video doesn't show is that Michelle Bachmann made the little girl cry in the first place.
Dude, Bachmann makes me cry...
Just got a nice ego boost--I was walking back to my desk past the bathroom, and I heard from behind me, "Kathy [Last name]!" I turn around, and it's the manager who sits kitty-corner from me. She apparently hadn't seen me from the back recently, because she was just plotzing over how great I looked.
Since most of my weight remaining is in my stomach, I know that my current best look is from the back. At the support group meeting on June 2nd, a fellow surgery patient that I've gotten to know through the meetings, but haven't seen since I was at my last meeting back in March, told me to turn around, whereupon she smacked my butt and told me that I have no ass left. I'll be really happy when she smacks my stomach and says I have no gut left, either.
I just figured out why my new boss, who sits in the cubicle next to me, annoys me so much. He's an upspeaker.
Everything crossed for you guys, Sparky! I'll repost your link on my fb today, just in case.
My poor old diabetic kitty, Swifty, was all wobbly in his back legs this morning. He was otherwise alert but it is worrisome. He couldn't jump on the couch and he kind of dragged himself upstairs. He's at the vet now. The vet tech said sometimes the diabetes causes numbness in their limbs so maybe it's that? Hope whatever passes quickly. That guy loves to jump on stuff!
My commute is now 17 miles and about 25 minutes there/30-35 home. Unless traffic is really backed up on the beltway. I miss my 5 mi/12 minute commute a lot. Mostly where I was working though. That commute could be 40 minutes on the way home if traffic was bad. I do NOT miss my commute to Columbia which ended up regularly being an hour or more home every night. That sucked. And no public transit at all! (To here I could take the subway and a bus if I really needed to.)

the best part is the smug look he gives his wife. They are SO CUTE.
