This girl at school? She told me that gelatin is made from ground-up cow's feet and that every time you eat Jell-O there's some cow out there limping around without any feet. But I told her that I'm sure the cow is dead before they cut its feet off, right?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

C'mon Sass!!! Be found, bebe!!!

My church's VBS starts this coming Sunday evening. I am Director,

msbelle - I might end up falling into/volunteering to do this next summer so may I pick your brain when/if the time comes?

I have made today my Onerous Task Day. My list, I will show you it:

  • Call Em's doc for this month's script
    * Call plumber to come in and check out bathtub drain pipes
    * Go to the dentist
    * Email GS council re: cookie money
    * Deposit $$ into GS Account
    * Take kids to the library and hopefully, the pool

There's more, but I can't remember it.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That sounds like a full day, Aims.

Today was apparently my day to call the cops on amyth. At 6:30 am.

Neighbor fail!

I went running this morning at gawd awful am (it's still coolish then), and found a credit card in the road. So I brought it home, tried to find a number for the owner, failed, called the cops, and they said they'd send someone right out to pick it up. At 6:20 in the morning, before coffee, apparently I believe I live next door, so I sent the local police to ring up amyth.

Ten minutes later I got a call saying he'd talked to the lady at amyth's apartment number and she didn't know what he was talking about. At which time I did the forehead slap, opened my door, and waved him over to my apartment.

D'oh.

In other news, yay Sass sighting! And my commute is about 25 minutes long, depending on road work and traffic.

It will be. As soon as it starts. Well, I've called the Dr's office cause I can leave a message for that. And I've emailed GS council re: cookie money. Plumber I'll call around 9:15 when I'm done at the dentist.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I woke myself up hacking up a lung. I don't know what to do. My boss will throw a fit if I try to work from home, or if I try to take a day off, but I'm miserable.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ten minutes later I got a call saying he'd talked to the lady at amyth's apartment number and she didn't know what he was talking about. At which time I did the forehead slap, opened my door, and waved him over to my apartment.

That's...kind of hilarious.

Come on, Sass!!!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

she has wandered into a very ritzy part of DC/MD off of Rock Creek Park.

My parents live in Chevy Chase - I will ask them to keep and eye out and alert neighbors.

[eta - I just checked out your blog and Brookville and Thornapple is just a few blocks from where I grew up. Fingers are crossed that we can help!!]

Now tagless for your comfort.

Is it entirely wrong that I bailed on a volunteer meeting for a fundraiser I'm helping out with because of rain and storms? I just don't feel like getting the kids up and out and wrangling them in a conference room for 2 hours this morning.

I promise I'll make the next meeting.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Cashmere, someday you may find this (or something like it) in your house.
