How long is everybody's commute? How long is a normal commute?
Mine is about 40 minutes, if you count walking from the house to the bus stop and from the bus stop to the office.
The average US commute is, I understand, about 20 minutes, but it's driving. I would rather have a 40 minute commute on public transit than a 20 minute drive, if I had to drive in traffic and pay for parking. I mean, that's a gimme, right? My peace of mind is worth 40 minutes a day, during which I can zone out to podcasts or plot stories.
20 minute commute, but that's traffic. On Sunday morning when I come in at 6 AM, 10 minutes.
I used to teach VBS back in the day. I was always amazed how much the 10-12 year olds loved me.
How long is everybody's commute?
I've had a pretty wide variety. Door-to-desk, the shortest was 7 minutes for about 3 miles. The longest was 45 minutes for 31 miles. Currently my commute is 12 miles, and it takes me 25 minute inbound in the early morning, 35 minutes outbound during the beginning of the evening rush.
My commute is an awesome 35-40 minutes, with 20 minutes walking and about 15 in a van, with a few sitting in between (I don't like to cut it close).
In NYC, it was 50 minutes mostly crammed on the subway and the shoving my way down Wall Street, and it sucked.
Mine is about 20 minutes, which is awesomesauce. This also includes carpooling with Tom and dropping him off first.
Mine is a 40-minute walk over the Brooklyn Bridge, or a ten minute subway ride.
Man, somebody tell me to eat dinner, pack my suitcase, call for a cab, and go to bed. 4am is gonna be ugly.
I won't taunt with my commute.
Ha, you're totally taunting in your head! Fess up!
Hey, shrift, do stuff!
