Mal: You are very much lacking in imagination. Zoe: I imagine that's so, sir.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Wow, I never knew NYC traffic sucked this much.

Documenting Traffic Mayhem in a Manhattan Street Intersection

“3 Way Street” by Ron Gabriel is a video of one Manhattan intersection that shows the mayhem caused by misbehaving motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists. The video is part of Gabriel’s 3 Way Street campaign, a masters thesis project that addresses coexistence on New York City streets.

By summer 2010, the expansion of bike lanes exposed a clash of long-standing bad habits — such as pedestrians jaywalking, cyclists running red lights, and motorists plowing through crosswalks. The old habits exacerbate attempts to expand ways to use our streets; existing disfunction makes change more difficult.

My master’s thesis project at SVA focused on one intersection as a case study. The video aims to show our interconnected role in improving the safety and usability of our streets. The campaign is named ’3-Way Street’ and is made up of a poster series, a video and website.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Maybe I've lived here too long, but am I missing something in that video? Did he actually see any accidents occur? All I see is a bunch of pearl-clutching over bike messengers...

We still have bike messengers?

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

If it's the video I'm thinking of, I think there's one hit & run. I wished it was Michigan & Chicago ave in Chicago. Then you'd have horses too.

And the NY Post goes with the obvious headline: [link]

Watched the whole thing - not even a fender bender. One or two close calls, but it's not like Manhattan has the monopoly on asshole drivers. (They all come home at night to MY neighborhood..)

Yeah, it seems like Bicyclists Can Be Dicks 101.

You're not some magical hybrid between a pedestrian and a vehicle, free to zip through traffic and sidewalks as you see fit, unbeholden to traffic lights, established directions, and right of way... you're just a tool.

Update: The NY Post changed their headline from "WEINER PULLS OUT" to "WEINER WRAPS IT UP"
