Yes, there is. There's a hurry, Xander. I'm dying...I may have as few as fifty years left.

I love this place.

Last night I had baked salmon with lemon and dill, and roasted Brussels sprouts. Tonight, it's back to the red lentil dal that I'll never finish eating.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Last night I had popcorn for dinner. This morning I had ice cream for breakfast. I haven't done either of these in quite a while--not since I went through my "I'm a grown up and I can eat what I want" phase. Anyway, both were quite satisfying, but I'm going back to vaguely healthy eating notions with my turkey veg wrap at lunch.

Stopped by my hemotologist's office this morning for a blood test. Have been exhausted and empty brained - ok, more than usual - lately. Took me over a week to think of checking my iron levels. Dur. Won't get the results back for a couple of days, but I feel all accomplished.

Oh, oh, and I have a sushi lunch date to look forward too (with a friend, not a date, date).

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I am in full on grumpypants mode this morning.

Art Crawl!!!

Bankruptcy court rules DOMA unconstitutional . . .what a weird sideways way to get there. Like prosecuting Al Capone for tax evasion.

I can see the bankruptcy ruling, though. The couple was legally married but now they're being denied a standard legal benefit of marriage. The gay marriages were not declared void--were they? bad citizen for not knowing that--so the only reason for denying that marriage benefit is because someone thinks they're icky. And ickiness is not a legally recognized state.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

If it's the California marriages that were done before being struck down, then the marriages are not void.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

A friend of mine is being interviewed by all the local news orgs because she and her wife are affected by that ruling. It's a bummer they had to file for bankruptcy but such an awesome outcome! I'm so proud of her for being a public face for the issue.
