Zoe: I thought you wanted to spend more time off-ship this visit. Wash: Out there is seems like it's all fancy parties. I like our party better. The dress code is easier and I know all the steps.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Audible.com is confusing me. To "purchase" the free audiobook I had to sign in with my Amazon password. Download instructions include this:

If this is your first download on this Mac, you'll be prompted to enter your Audible username and password.

How come my Amazon username and password don't work? I was never prompted to create a username and password for Audible.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

It's just disappointing me. I can't download it from Australia. Ah well.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

I couldn't get the Audible thing to work. I downloaded it, but couldn't play it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Insomnia. Trying again.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

My driving commute is largely not sucking as much as I worried. I'm also more relaxed about the traffic and the time it takes (compared to the last time I had a driving commute, 10+ years ago pre-Paxil). I also have plenty of NPR podcasts to keep me entertained... but I still miss walking and public transportation options which meant healthy exercise and time to read.

In his intro, Jackson says he never could get his daughter to sleep through reading to her. I expect that's because he's Samuel L. Fucking Jackson, and that rich voice could keep someone awake through the phonebook. Even if you'd grown up with That Voice through your toddlerhood.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

did you all know that the audio book of "go the fuck to sleep" is narrated by Samuel L. Jackson?

I listened to it in the car on the way to work this morning. BIG MISTAKE. I almost drove into a ditch because I was laughing so hard.
