Simon: Captain... why did you come back for us? Mal: You're on my crew. Simon: Yeah, but you don't even like me. Why'd you come back? Mal: You're on my crew. Why we still talking about this?

It's open-up-the-downstairs cool out. Still leaving the ac on upstairs, since it is cooler and drier than down here was. It's nice. Plus someone is cooking something tasty so it smells awesome.

I wiped the leak from my mind by going to visit my neighbor's new 4 month old puppy. He was part of the SPCA booth at a market she works on the Eastern Shore. She fell for him and they let him spend the whole market under her table, where he was basically a poster-pup for friendliness and good behavior. She spent the next 4 hours texting her husband, pleading a case for him. Needless to say, she won. He lasted grumpy about 10 seconds after meeting the pup. Pup is mostly black lab, but has some pit in there somewhere (you can see it around the eyes, and he's got a bit brindle going on, giving him a slight frost) and really, the sweetest thing ever. They have a 3ish yellow lab and she was patiently wrestling with him and pinning him, whereupon he'd go into paroxysms of wiggly delight. When she got a little rougher with him (to tell him she was done) he went to hide behind my legs but still tried to get her to play. From behind my legs.

Unlike the yellow lab, he's not a barker. She's a notorious barker, and when she'd go off, he just looked at her as if she grew a second head.

Anyway, PUPPY! I'll probably get to take care of him some this summer.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I just woke up from accidentally taking a really long nap, which makes me think I won't be sleeping much tonight.

I wish that hadn't happened.

(the nap I mean, not the waking up.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Well, if you're going to be up late at least you've got a batch of new TV show box sets to watch.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

While 55 is crappy summer weather here, it is awesome in my apartment!

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Fucking time-delayed Tonys. Stupid Pacific time zone.

So inhabitants of what I call the Flag House are a couple of 50 something guys that look very similar, and one wears the black priestly duds and a collar. I never knew that. Always wanted to leave a note to them about how much I enjoyed their rotation of flags. They change the flag on their balcony almost weekly. They fly everything from state flags to the team they are apparently rooting for in the World Cup. During the weeks of the Egyptian revolution, they flew Egypt's flag; right now it is the Pride flag. I remember when I looked at this house,it was the NM flag.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I found a stream of the Tony's and I cannot watch because my connection is too slow. Or somethng. It is super jerky.

Also, I think something s wrong with Netflix, because this is the summary of the PBS documentary on Dolley Madison

The mythical universe of Discworld and its beloved gift-giving holiday of Hogwatch face a villainous menace in this fantasy based on Terry Pratchett's novel. The Santa-like Hogfather is missing, but that's just one part of a much greater threat. More Info

Art Crawl!!!

sarameg - that puppys sounds awesome!

Watched a bit of the Whitaker Masterclass on HRTV. Also watched the wrap up Pursuit of the Crown: Richard Migliore said he watched the Belmont with some horsemen who wondered if Marajh tried to scuttle MMM's chances, i.e, same theory Velazquez is working on. But given that both Marajh's horse and MMM finished behind Animal Kingdom it is unlikely that anything further will happen.

You have to remember that being a 5-time Olympic medalist means Hilary Knight has been playing hockey at an elite level at least 16 years. It's impossible for her to be a teenage girl less than 16 years old, thus the President's complete lack of interest.

Angela Lansbury looks great as always. I think she's figured out how to do the Dorian Gray thing, except instead of a portrait it's Mel Gibson that's aging for her.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Dolley Madison's life was much more interesting than I realized.
