Now tagless for your comfort.

My niece is 3 and bitchy.

Bwhahahahaha! She sounds EXACTLY like Olivia. Thankfully, some of Liv's edges are wearing off.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

was totes surprised when I was in HR that there was no Arab-American type category and that as far as the EEO was concerned, people from Iran and Iraq and Saudi Arabia were White and people from India were Asian.

I work at a school that has a very high Asian population (both east Asian and Middle Eastern). The kids self-differentiate by calling themselves "Asian" for Middle Eastern, "Island Asian" for Phillipino, and "Slanty-Eyed Asian" for east Asian. The first time I heard the last one, I stopped them. They seemed confused why I thought that might be bad. To them, it was just a descriptor.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Question for the hive mind: someone I know has just been prescribed Cymbalta (active ingredient: duloxetine, also sold as Ariclaim, Xeristar or Yentreve), for periodically recurring bouts of depression. Has anyone here used Cymbalta before? I had a look on Wikipedia, which seems to suggest that though it works as an anti-depressant, it doesn't do any better than other AD drugs and can have more issues with side effects. (However, the article has also been flagged as possibly not meeting Wikipedia standards.)

Can anyone give me any more info about this drug?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

billytea, I didn't like cymbalta because I could never sleep on it, but I believe there are other buffistas have had luck with it. It is supposed to be especially good with helping those who have aches and pains associated with their depression.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I actually had an argument with a man from Turkey who was registering his son for classes and did not want to check white. It was hard to explain that I really had no contraol over the categories, but I tried to get him to check "other" if he felt strongly about it.

Remember last summer, the woman at work who had the serious conversation with me about how I smelled bad with a funny odor she could not place. Well today, in the car, driving me to work, she told me though she hasn't smelled it in a long time, I smelled again today!

Way to make me feel awful and awkward all day!

Jesus. On the upside, I think I figured out what she is smelling-- when I have itchy skin, I cover myself with Gold Bond Medicated powder, which has that weird menthol scent. I haven't done so since last summer, but I was feeling a little itchy the past couple of days, so I powdered up this morning. .

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMG that woman! And that sounds like a pleasant scent to me, so I think you can rest assured it's really Just Her. Good thing it's not your expensive perfume....

So....wine. My stomach doesn't like me this morning, despite judicious application of water and tonic alongside the wine. Uhg.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

OMG that woman!

I'm with Jesse. She's tactless.

I have to admit an odd fondness for the smell of Gold Bond powder. I like that whiff of menthol.

Right?? It's not like Sophia is wearing Crap Powder -- it's a smell people like!
