Simon: Captain... why did you come back for us? Mal: You're on my crew. Simon: Yeah, but you don't even like me. Why'd you come back? Mal: You're on my crew. Why we still talking about this?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

You realize this makes me want to text, "Hi Dita!" to you now, right?

My text to Juliana was "New Discovery--the text sound scares Dita."

The next one was "Send more".

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ha. We should all text Hi Dita. Poor Dita.

I am cowering at the folks` place watching the lost satellite signal for the finals. We came home early from our four obligations this evening to try to not move dj gear in the torrential rain.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

The first music I bought with my own money was the CD of "Forever Your Girl" by Paula Abdul.

As is usually true with her, Dita has mostly gotten over her fear (at least until next time) and has in fact conquered the phone by walking on it.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Happy birthday, Dana!!!

I have absolutely no clue what was the first 45/album I bought. I would have been a kid, around 9 or so, so it was probably something easy-listening-ish like Little River Band or Air Supply.

From yesterday:

What movies or books have you re-watched where your life experience altered your opinion on a character's choices?

When I reread Lord of the Rings after taking a class on medieval lit, I was blown away by the depth that I saw, so much more than when I first read it at age 15. Also, over the years, I've grown to love the second halves of both TTT and RotK with Frodo, Sam, and Gollum, whereas before I was more enamored with the other books which concentrated on Rohan (Eomer, mmmmm) and the Ents with Merry and Pippin.

Because books.

Can't remember what 45 I bought first, because I had a zillion of them, but I do remember either Supertramp's Breakfast in America or Fleetwood Mac's Rumors was the first album I bought with my own money.

I wasn't supposed to buy the "Afternoon Delight" 45, because my mom objected, but I did anyway and claimed I forgot. I also had no idea until much later what they were talking about.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I didn't figure that out until about 6 years ago.

Oh, yeah, I was going to talk about that too. The first cassette I ever had was Leon Patillo, but the first cassette I ever bought with my own money was Def Leppard`s Pyromania. I snuck out and walked to the mall to buy it with money I`d ferreted away by not buying lunches. Loved that album.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I don't remember exactly what was first, but some of the early cassettes I bought myself were Dire Straits Brothers In Arms, Air Supply, Falco and Rick Springfield's Tao.

My first albums my dad bought me for Xmas: Pyromania, Thriller and the Stray Cats.

Nice job, Dad!
